During the winter of the 1999 Yukon Quest Dog Mushing Race we tested a new mitten. The temperature encountered was -40 to -50 degrees. The mittens proved beyond all expectations to be the warmest mittens ever used in the Yukon Territory.

They are a two layer system. The exterior mitten shell is three ply Supplex. The lining is 24 ounce Lamilite. There is a size ounce Lamilite insert. On the back of the palm is a large square of pile (nose wipe) and across the palm is a hook and loop closure.When open, your entire hand can go through it. The hook and loop are one inch wide, so it closes very tightly.
