The Hootch
Product #: 5.3.1
A slang term used by soldiers for a make shift shelter. Generally they would use their poncho. We now offer an updated version of a Hootch. The fabric is waterproof single ply nylon taffeta. All seams are taped. There are five loops across the middle to suspend the Hootch when creating an A frame shelter or teepee shape. Two snaps on the center webbing can mate to snaps on the edge to create a poncho. Two or more Hootches can be joined by snaps to increase size. Each of the long sides has six stake down points. There is a stuff sack attached to the Hootch. When the Hootch is inserted in the stuff sack, two keepers (clips) are visible to allow it to attach to a belt, such as web belt. Patent #5924132 issued July 20, 1999.
