I've had this large dog bed for 9 or 10 years. The only cleaning it has had has been to vacuum it off and on and to take it outside and sweep it. Duck Head overalls were said to wear like iron, but this dog bed gives that motto new meaning. All the stitching is as good as the day it came, and despite my 72 lb Lab's attempting to dig in it and to do things with it which I won't go into, it is as good as new except for some stains. At 77 years old I don't camp any more, but if I did, Wiggy's products would be the only ones I would consider based entirely on this dog bag. Thanks.

...And I sincerely thank you for looking into the matter. You seem to have a quality operation at Wiggy's. I'm not surprised that FedEx couldn't understand why it wasn't delivered, as there was no real reason for it. I'm certain that it was your inquiry that did the trick.
The Cagoule arrived today and I'm very satisfied with it and plan on taking it on it's first outing soon — a hiking trip on Isle Royale in Lake Superior. It'll cover my pack nicely. It'll also be just what I need to get back to shelter when caught out deer hunting. I can slip my arm out of the sleeve and carry my rifle inside it.
Thanks again.

Dear Wiggy's:
I just wanted to take time to thank you for supporting the United States Snowshoe Association. I recently competed in the national championships in Bend, Oregon, and was the lucky recipient of a pair of your Horizon gloves in a raffle. I spend quite a bit of time in Yellowstone volunteering with the wolf project, and your winter gear has come in handy on many -20° F days and colder! I also have used some of your gear dog sledding in Alaska. We really appreciate your support of the USSSA. Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Mark Rickman
Wiggy,
Greetings from Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan.
I just wanted to drop you a note thanking you for making such a fine & outstanding bag.
I bought my "WIGGY BAG" back in 1996 before I deployed to Bosnia in support of the NATO IFOR effort. While the rest of my comrades were wrestling with the old style Army sleeping bags (that packed up the size of a dorm-room refrigerator) my bag was nice and small.
I used your bag while a Boy Scout leader in the 1990's.
In 2001 I deployed to Egypt for a bit. My Wiggy’s bag kept me nice and warm.
In 2003 I was in the initial invasion of Iraq. Guess which sleeping system I selected?
In 2006 I pulled another tour in Iraq. As I was mobile bouncing over multiple bases, the Wiggy’s bag was my choice over the new & improved Army bag system.
Now, in 2013, I'm pulling tour in Afghanistan and once again the Wiggy's bag is with me.
It is such a comfort after a long day (we do 12+ hour days, 7 days a week) — handling multiple issues to finally make it back to your "can" (containerized housing unit), and crawl into that comfortable bag…. Good night… (except when the muj rocket the base).
I read your piece on your website and concur 1000% American engineering…. Quality American materials…made by proud American workers who take pride in making a outstanding durable bag. What a concept!!
Best wishes,
-Kim
Wiggy:
Used the gloves today. PERFECT! The medium is a perfect fit. We had 14" of snow in ~6 hours.
I spent 4 hours blowing the driveway clear and my hands were warm and dry. I am always warm and dry in the sweater, sleeping bag, and now the gloves.
Thanks for a great product line. Be Well.
-Dave
To whomever this may concern,
I just thought you might be interested in hearing this. Or maybe not.
My husband came from the Philippines in 1971 to Akron, Ohio as a medical
intern. It was very cold and coming from a warm climate he needed a warm
coat. The coat he bought was a brown Antarctic Parka with a furry rimmed
hood. He wore that coat all of the time. Well, here we are in North
Carolina 41 years later and still wear that same coat every winter. It's
the warmest coat we have! I wear it too. It's still in perfect condition,
just like the day it was bought.
I'm only writing this to say thank you for making superior items. You
certainly can't find that now!
From your #1 customer, -Pit & Merry Fajardo
I just wanted to say thank you for an outstanding product and customer service that is unparalleled, and unfortunately, unheard of anymore. I know of no other company that stands behind its products like you do…and for good reason. Your products outwork and outlast all others. I just can not say enough about your company. Thank you, truly.
-Brian
I ordered a jacket less than a week ago. It arrived quickly, and only $6.00 to ship up here to Alaska. I must say, I'm impressed! I'm a dog musher and am totally outfitted with Wiggys products, from socks to sleeping bag, even my sleddogs wear your dog coats. Your stuff is THE BEST! Hands down. I tell everyone so. Just wanted to say thanks for making working and playing outside not just doable but downright fun. Keep up the good work!
Sincerely, Molly McCarty
Wiggys,
My 5 year old son has started kindergarten here in Denver. He is a student at Rocky Mountain School of Expeditionary Learning (RMSEL.com). As a charter school, they require students to overnight camp a couple of times a year, including the kindergartners. About two months ago I bought one of your sleeping bags, the Ultra Light Camo bag with this upcoming camping trip in mind. The overnight trips were on October 2nd and 3rd. Both very cold nights, about 40° on the 2nd and near freezing on the 3rd. Of course I was worried about my son, being out in such cold weather, went to your web page re-read the specs on the bag, I just hoped my boy wasn't' going freeze to death.
Picked him up on Thursday afternoon, asked him if he had fun, and was his sleeping bag warm.
"Very warm," he said.
Thanks, Troy
Dear Wiggy –
I just returned from a four-week climbing expedition to Canada’s Northwest Territories. Several of your products helped make the trip warm, dry, and enjoyable and I wanted to share some details.
My sleeping bag system consisted of the Desert rectangular bag paired with the Ultralight mummy. I used both in base camp, for a roomy and extremely warm sleeping set-up that also allowed space inside to contain water bottles and footwear. But the real test came on our main mountaineering objective, a vertical, 2500-foot granite buttress called the Phoenix.
Weight and bulk were critical, since all supplies for our four-man team had to be hauled up the wall, so I took only the Ultralight bag. Instead of using a bivi sack, as I’d always done previously on walls—with generally unsatisfactory results—I paired the bag with a Wiggy’s Cagoule for shelter.
One evening, as we prepared to spend a night on a tiny ledge about midway up the route, a cold drizzle started, and would keep up the entire night. The perch I was on proved to be much too sloping to use: when I got into my bag I found I’d just slide off, coming tight against my harness tie-in. The cagoule, however, allowed me to rearrange the rocks on my ledge, while still remaining sheltered from the weather. I quickly managed to build a cradle-like spot that kept me from slipping off. Once construction was over, I pulled my arms out of the cagoule sleeves and slept with them inside.
The cagoule hood was much more weatherproof than the always-problematical bivi-sack closure. I could sit and doze comfortably in a knee-up sitting position, and by using a small foot sack (my climbing pack also would have worked) I could stretch out full length. When the drizzle turned to a rain/snow mix, the bag proved more than warm enough. Even where I had let the foot get directly rained on, the bag held absolutely no water other than some dampness in the shell. This will be my regular system from now on!
I also experimented with the Wiggy’s Leg Jackets, and I will be using these more in the future. Layering is key to staying comfortable in the rapidly changing conditions on a rock wall, but because of your harness and the need to stay tied in, it’s very difficult to add bottom layers during a climb. The leg jackets solved this problem, providing an amazing amount of warmth, slipping on easily without me needing to untie, and leaving my harness gear and belay loops completely unobstructed. I think I could even use these in place of a sleeping bag for bivouacs, since I always carry a warm jacket anyway and really only need lower-body insulation. I’ll let you know how that works out!
When my partners started stirring the next morning—I won’t say “woke up,” since I’m pretty sure they didn’t sleep—I could tell they had not been as cozy and comfortable as I. Fortunately, they were young and strong and climbed well anyway, and late the next day we succeeded in reaching the summit of the Phoenix. Despite my vote to make another wall bivouac on the way down, my partners, their bags still damp, overruled me, so we rappelled all through the next night, and made it down safely. Thank you, Wiggy’s, for that extra night’s sleep!

I recently was pulling up the info on some of the Kit I carried in Iraq during the Surge in 2007-2008 as a Security Forces Officer and wanted to drop you a line to say thanks for the great products you produce for the Military!
I never had to worry about my comfort in one of your bags and I continue to use the equipment as I take my son camping and he begins his Boy Scout experience. Thanks for making a quality product that stands-up under what we put equipment through and then some!
Joe
This is Carl Krebs in Louisiana. The FTRSS system you sold me is working flawlessly. Even with our extreme dampness and humidty here and up into Tennessee and from temp. variables of 29 degrees to 50 in Louisiana, I have sweat tested these units and cold tested them with, and without a gore-tex bivi. I`m here to tell you, Snugpak and all the rest of them, including North Face don`t have a damn thing on your bags. You can bet I don`t waste my time writing folks that make sleeping bags and to this sort of writing unless they fail. Then I chew their ass out. I have nothing to say but, you are a damn smart man that knows exactly what you are doing manufacturing these bags......good work, and thank you for a good warm, dry nights sleep. Law enforcement and the U.S. Forest Service also agree....concurrently. I will before too much longer order the Barren Ground parka and the Ultima Thule .......thanks again!

Jerry,
Just wanted to thank you for a great product. Just got back from a 13 day DIY sheep / caribou hunt in Northern BC. My new ultralight performed perfectly in very damp and difficult conditions where it was impossible to dry gear due to rain, sleet and snow. Just managing humidity in the tent (ie damp bag) was a constant challenge. I slept comfortably the whole time. It's nice to buy a quality American made product that is a good value and works perfectly.

Hey Jerry,
Thanks for the reply. Not every day you get the owner to email back.
I purchased one of your bags about 11 years ago when I was getting ready to ship out to Oman. I was in the Air Force back then and we were flying missions into Afghanistan and I needed something light and compact to take with me for all the wonderful nights spent in the tent where I did my sleeping. I am not sure about all the Wiggys-haters, but I do know that your bag was well used and stood up to much abuse. Not many bag makers can make the same claim. Now, 11 years later I am retired and that bag is still thrown in the camper and used on occasion and it is still in great condition. I plan on getting many more years out of that bag.
On second thought, I am going to give that one to my son and buy a brand new one. I don't know how you can make such a quality product for such a great price, with a great guarantee to boot, but I thank you for that.
Again, thanks for your prompt reply
Doug
Hi Jerry,
A little story from years ago that you may find amusing...To test out your claims, I thorough soaked my Superlight bag in the bath tub and stayed in it outside on a night when it was getting down to the low teens. That would have been a test for most 0 degree bags in ideal conditions with a dry bag, let alone being totally soaked! And amazingly enough, it started drying out and I made it through the night. My mistake was foolishly placing a space blanket under me that didn't allow excess water to drain. I realized my mistake the next morning after discovering I had been lying in a pool of
water with temps approaching 10 degrees F! Needless to say, I was impressed with how the bag performed and kept me alive in those rather unfair conditions. So I am pretty sold on your sleeping bags.
Thanks Jerry,

Hi, Mr. Wigutow!
I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you how much I love my Wiggy's bags, and also how much I appreciate your company. If you recall, just over a year ago I emailed you with some questions about your bags. I ended up purchasing an older Wiggy's model on eBay, which lead to me buying a Slumber...And of course this lead to buy a new Superlight & the Overbag to go with it! I've used my Slumber for camping in good weather and as bedding at home- it's just so comfy. It's awesome that your bags are all machine washable.
The only complaint I have about your bags? They're addictive! I expect that towards the end of the summer I'll be buying the Antarctic bag as well. The coldest it ever gets here (South Dakota) is around -35F, so the extra margin should be handy.
Thanks for the great items, and for keeping jobs here in the USA!
Regards, Rob Babcock
Mr. Wigutow,
We just returned from our vacation and I just have to tell you, my 5 year old son was soooo upset when I discussed with him that we had to return his first sleeping bag, because I felt that it was not safe for him to sleep in. As he watched me place the order on your website, he seemed to be a little bit better. However, he was VERY concerned that the bags would not arrive before we left for our trip. On Saturday, when we were packing up the truck and nothing had arrived, he again got very upset that he would not have a sleeping bag to sleep in knowing we were leaving the next morning.
I must send you a BIG thank you from the bottom of my heart, for getting those bags to us with a Saturday delivery from FED-Ex. You would have thought Santa himself made the delivery. The delight in my child's eye was priceless and he was so excited to sleep in it that night.
As a parent I am grateful to be able to purchase a product that I feel my child is safe sleeping in without added chemicals. As an American, I am proud to be able buy "Made in America" products. My son even noticed the American flag on your label and said, "Look Mommy, it's our Flag" .
Sincerely,
Steffany Mathis Haertsch
I was a camp director for the BSA on Huntington Lake at Camp Oljato for 10 years and you wear a lot of hats in such a job.. When the weather gets ugly the zippers get hung up in the draft guard as one goes for cover. All employees carry neddle nose pliers to solve the problem. In ten years of camping never at any time did a WIGGY'S zipper jam, this made in America product is outstanding.

About 2 years ago I ordered a Lamilite sweater and complained because of no cuffs or waist strap ,you replied stating keeping costs low. Fast forward and as I said I would I buy a Wiggys bag on sale and a half price Jacket Line .Well I am very happy with my new bag, the stitching, the zipper, the cut and compactness impressed me. I tried it for a nap and instantly realized I had finnaly purchased my last bag! The jacket liner will slip under any commercial rain jacket but I wear it on it's own for early morning walks with my dog, I have had many comments and 2 days later my buddy Gabrial here in BC got a bag for him and his wife. I am so happy that your product is of such high quality yet affordable to a veteran on disability like myself, being able to enjoy the outdoors is of great benefit to me. Wiggys products give me peace of mind. I will be warm, I am going to design some Lamilite pants to match the jacket liner, the ultimate underwear, stadium wear and part time graveyard shift security officers best friend, keep up the good work,

Hi Wiggy’s,
I’m writing to “rave” about the Superlight Sleeping Bag I purchased a month ago rated for zero. The first time I used it I slept in the back of my truck in Northern Nevada in March and my truck’s digital thermometer read 15 degrees when I went to sleep at 12:30 am. I was instantly warm when I crawled in the bag, I’ve never had that happen in my 40 years of hunting, fishing and camping. The next day as the temperature climbed into the 20’s at night I climbed in my bag with wet wool socks and long underwear from sweating in neoprene waders all day fishing. I was instantly warm, when I woke up the next morning I was completely dry and very, very warm. This was my first “field test” before I take this bag to the “Arctic National Wildlife Refuge” in August 2013. I will use this bag under the most extreme conditions I can find here in Nevada because I know my life may depend on this bag in the extreme conditions in Alaska. I have no hesitation in taking this bag. A fellow hunter used his Wiggy’s in Alaska and “raved” about how well it performed; that is why I purchased mine and I will call to thank him for his recommendation.
I have told everyone about how well this bag performed and an actively trying to sell my one year old Marmot “0” down sleeping bag.
Great Sleeping Bag!!!! Jeff Kovac
To the Greatest Sleeping Bag Manufacturer in the World,
You may remember me. I was introduced to Wiggy through Mark Pacholic when him and I were in the Marines together (by the way, he says hello).
I can not get over (for nearly 20 years now) how wonderful your sleeping bag is (I still use it, daily).
I let the bag get soaking wet in the rain then slept in it on a wet winter's night. You may not be surprised to learn that it kept me warm the instant I got in and sure enough, just like legend says, by morning I was completely dry and so was my Wiggy's sleeping bag. Now I know for myself that I can rely on your superior sleeping system in the worst of conditions.

Dear Mr. Wigutow,
I purchased a Wiggy's bag around 1995 from Brigade Quartermaster. I have thoroughly enjoyed warm, dry and restful sleep in this bag since I purchased it. (Even outdoors in the snow once, going against your recommendations I now know.) I was wondering if I could get the temperature rating for this bag please? I'm thinking it was the same as the Ultra Light, but I'm not sure. I have purchased an Overbag for the FTRSS recently, and it works GREAT! I'm looking forward to getting one for my wife, so I can hopefully convince her camping is not in an RV. Thanks for your help, and making a wonderful product. Please keep up the good work, especially since it's made in the U.S.A.
Regards, Brian Hunnell
Dear Sirs:
I purchased a jacket liner several months ago. It has become one of my most used Wiggy's products. The liner is just right for inside the house. I do a lot of work at the computer. The long cuffs are perfect, keeping the thicker sleeves away from my wrists. My fleece would bunch around my wrist, causing pain after hours of work. I also like the fact that there is no collar, so there is nothing to push against my neck while seated and working on the computer. The liner does work well as a liner when outside, but people who work at a computer will also appreciate the jacket liner.

Jerry,
I bought my FTRSS bag back in early 2008. I am an outdoor professional, working in the back country with at-risk youth and young adults in a wilderness program. I have slept in my Wiggy's bag in excess of 1000 nights over the past years, both at work and in my off time. I have had zero issues with your product. It washes well, the zippers are bombproof, it has kept its warmth and loft, and is good as new after all the use I have put it through. Thanks for a quality product. I know of no other sleeping bag that would stand up to the wear and tear like your product does.
Mike
Mr. Wigutow,
I am currently deployed to the Panjshir Valley, Afghanistan for my second year long tour of duty. It was during my first tour I realized the short comings of the U.S.G. issue poncho liner..specifically the severe loss of loft over time and just the general lack of long term durability. Therefore, when I noticed a long while back you had your version of the poncho liner in tri-color desert in clearance I decided to buy two. I have carried one of the two with me on this deployment. So far, it is holding up very while and functions to a much higher degree than the aforementioned issue liner. It is used every day and even since my arrival in July.
Honestly, the main reason I contacted you was to let you know how much I appreciate your addition of the American flag to the liner. That was something I recognized when I first opened the package they were shipped in. It is a very nice touch.
Thank you,

Jerry-
Met you and your crew a couple of years ago on a visit out to Colorado-
My son, Matt, just summited Kilimanjaro for the second time - His wife, Jessica, the first time -They made it to the top
- I gave them a pair of 0 degree bags as a gift for their climb that zipped together - as you can see despite being wet in miserable conditions- your bags kept them warm -
Thank you for helping keep my two children safe on their travels
Lisa KC- queticogal!
To all the workers @ Wiggys,
First of all, thank you very much for creating the bombproof sleeping bag!
I've taken this baby everywhere, from the beach in Mexico to the Grand
Canyon, & never failed me once. I've used & abused your gear beyond your
recommendation since '88, but finally gave out after 3 major surgeries.
Second, it's the most comfortable bag ever owned. It puts me to sleep like a
baby in the crib. Maybe the smell helped also.. LOL.
But anyway thanks again for creating the masterpiece.
We successfully completed our expedition in September 2001 and eventually returned to the UK in 2005.
We lived in our Wiggy’s Ultima Thule extra long, extra wide sleeping bags for 18 months through -15°C at the top of Mount Nemrut, Turkey to +55°C in the Sahara of Sudan, through snow, tropical storms to desert sand storms. After each wash (fortunately the linings were black!) they came out like new whether they were washed in an automatic machine or by hand in Lake Malawi or with the crocodiles in the Cunene.
Now we have two sons aged 9 & 7, both born in Cape Town, South Africa who join us on slightly more tame camping adventures until they are old enough to cope with the rigours of the road.
My wife has an aversion to hotel beds and will take her Wiggy’s where ever she goes on business, whether it be a 5 star hotel in London or a less renowned guest house in Istanbul, Turkey.
Even after 10 years of use, the sleeping bags still perform as the day they were delivered. However, the one thing they could not be designed against was theft! In 2004, whilst living in Walvis Bay, Namibia our house was burgled. The thieves emptied the sleeping bag out of the compression sack, took the sack to stuff with valuables and fortunately left the sleeping bag behind. I have tried after market compression sacks from well know manufacturers but they only last a year or two before falling apart.
I would be grateful if you could point me to a local stockist near Oxford, England where I can purchase a compression sack.
Thank you once again for a fantastic sleeping bag.
Regards

Hi Jerry,
Received my bag(s) yesterday and briefly tried it out...roasted me out in no time. Looks like I am going to love this system...thanks for getting it to me so quickly. I will spread the word; Wiggy's makes a great product and they are a joy to deal with. Thanks again,
Jim
Dear Wiggy's,
I was first introduced to your great gear when I was with SOCOM (3/75 Ranger Battalion) out of Fort Benning in 1986. Some was issue, and some we bought at ARCO's & Ranger Joes back then in Columbus Georgia.
Recently my Squeezie and I started Island hopping the Pacific living pretty much primitive, and loving it. For a year now we have extensively relied on your PONCHO's. Time and again we started to buy the Freedom Shelter (and will when we have the funds), but opted to hold off because our poncho's do so well. We are both broken up and older, so every little ounce is an issue to carry. Your poncho has been a life saver, a water collector, insect barrier, elements protection, CONCEALMENT (try camping in Oahu, you have a zillion Cops and Criminals to hide from), and more!
We have used them to carry things, as sleds; we could write a 101+ uses for a Wiggy's Poncho book!!!
I was at first hesitant to buy things online, especially things I remembered from long ago. It seems practically every quality business of the 1980's has sold out to some crummy crap heap Company in Asia under the same name, and
the products suck toad dung! I feared even Wiggy's might have got pressured. So we just bought the Poncho's as a test run a year or so ago. We couldn't be more pleased with your QUALITY.
Squeezie wants me to do a YouTube video bragging about our minimal but great gear. Our Staples have been your Poncho and some Cold Steal Knives. Some Army Mess Kits, and issue rucks. In the future we are upgrading to as much WIGGY'S as possible, from shelters to rucks and more. We thank you again for remaining a solid business in the quality outdoor/survival gear trade. As the US economy rots deeper and deeper into the soil, I believe your products will be more and more needed. People will have no option but to go back into the woods to survive. To do so will require some fine Wiggy's gear. You guys will probably be the last viable business on Earth before the bottom
completely falls out. I pray you hang as tough as your products. We need you, the world needs you!!!
Rock on Wiggy's!!!
Sincerely, Georg
Hello Jerry,
I received my sleeping bag this morning, exactly one week after I have placed my order, it's faster than in France ! Simply perfect.
Concerning the Ultra-Light, it's what I expected, the bag correspond exactly to my specifications. Back from Lapland where I walked 1600km in the wild, I wanted a really tough and rustic bag in view of next trips up there, even wilder. And really tough and rustic means Wiggys. I already have a Super Light giving me a great satisaction but too heavy for this kind of trip. The Ultra-Light seems perfect and believe me, this bag will see life!
For the moment I will test it in France and Germany this fall. The trip in Lapland will take place next spring and summer. I plan to make a report on a french internet forum, I'll try to do one in english too, it can be interesting for you I think.
In the meantime, it's good to know that some manufacturer like you have the courage to go against current and to avoid compromises on the solidity and the quality. I'm glad to have the possibility to use your products even in France because the European brands, even the better ones, are really far from your sturdiness standards.
Kind regards, François Durand,
a happy French customer.
I don't write many product reviews, but I am uniquely qualified to write this one: In November of 1994 I rolled my 1968 Bronco on black ice on a winding stretch of Highway 12 paralleling the Clearwater River in Idaho. In that accident I suffered a severe back injury--so severe that the chiropractor that took the x-rays commented that he was surprised that I hadn't severed my spinal cord. Because of the injury, despite the best efforts of the doctors and chiropractors I've been unable to sleep in a bed for the past 11 years. (Any bed is too soft and causes muscle spasms.) Since December of 1994, I've spent virtually every night sleeping on a carpeted floor in a Wiggy's Hunter Flexible Temperature Range Sleep System (FTRSS) sleeping bag. It is a two bag sleep system with two different weight bags that can be used together or separately. I spend roughly 8 months out of each year in the light weight bag, and 4 months in the heavy weight bag.) I've slept for more than 4,000 nights in that FTRSS--that is the equivalent of two lifetimes of heavy recreational use for a sleeping bag. (Here is the math: An intensive recreational user probably camps out about 35 nights per year, multiplied by 50 years of camping equals 1,750 nights. Hence, two lifetimes for a bag would be roughly 3,500 nights.) Since 1994, I have spent approximately 4,000 nights--including about 250 nights in the field--in my FTRSS. Again, that is something in excess of two lifetimes worth of use.
The FTRSS has been very comfortable and exceptionally durable. The bag has had zero zipper failures, and no rips or tears. Most importantly, is has never lost its loft or had its filling get clumped or re-arranged, despite countless machine washings. (I should have kept track of the number of times that I've washed it!) I highly recommend Wiggy's brand sleeping bags. The FTRSS models in particular are ideally suited for anyone that expects to give a sleeping bag demanding use. OBTW, I should mention that I have not been compensated in any way for making this endorsement. I'm just a very satisfied customer. If you want the best, buy yourself a Wiggy's bag!
I wanted to say thanks for the mukluks, they’re unbelievable. I wore them much of last winter, we got the worst blizzard in 100 years and they worked wonderfully. I attached some pictures (I’m on the left) I took when camping up in the UP of MI in January, temps in the negative teens and I was fine for 3 days in these boots. Semper Fi!
Chris
Hi Jerry,
Box came in today; the DG6 is more than I ever expected, or ever hoped for--I've spent about an hour loading it to 55 lb normal loadout, adjusted the suspension per the instructions, and it is the most comfortable, best thought out pack I have ever seen, used, or wished for--it is up to your normal, extraordinary, unparalleled standards of excellence--
If the parka system is this nice, I can't wait--you'll have an order within 2 weeks--
Steve Clay
Mr. Wigutow,
As you know from recent email conversations, I have been using your sleeping bags since the mid 90's. I have used the Ultima Thule/Overbag combination on countless trips from mountaineering to hunting in all temperatures. I mostly used the overbag alone - it has been my favorite bag for backpacking and river trips. I finally had a problem with my overbag after about 15 years and contacted Wiggy's to see about repair or replacement. I was expecting the company to replace the bag for a cost and I would have had no problem purchasing a full price replacement. The problem with the bag was most likely my fault.
Mr. Wigutow replied to my email and said to please send the bag in and he would take care of me - and he did by replacing the bag at no cost to me. Wiggy's has the best customer service of any company I've used - hands down. I very much recommend the bags for all use and especially for people who use their gear regularly and want a product they can use for many years. I also like the fact that Wiggy's is an American company and an American manufacturer. Hats off to Wiggy's.
Sincerely, Aaron Agee
Hello Wiggys,
Sent my 17yr. son to Pararescue training. This is an Air Force sponsored course for the Civil Air Patrol. The overbag was used and abused as can be seen in the picture. Two cadets are sharing the bag. It came home trashed. I washed it per the attached instructions and it has made a full recovery. My son had nothing but praise for the bag. Thank you for a great product.
Sincerely, Howard Krebs
I have been meaning to write you for a while to comment on
just how well these bags work. When I first got my bags (I own the ultima thule
with the ftrss) my friends were wondering why I didn't go with a down bag from
say marmot or the north face. After seeing how well made, comfortable and how
flexible the sleep system is they were ordering wiggys bags of their own. I
had my first real opportunity to try out both bags together last winter. The
temperature was around -15 degrees. I was in a hammock tent so I was going
to be suffering from what I call the bridge effect ( winds blows underneath
you cooling you off) I was so warm I actually had to unzip my bag and open
it up a few times. I love these bags and I wont camp without them. Thank you
for making such an incredible product.
Dan
Wiggy,
I have now been using one of your bags for over a year. Every camping trip
I go on I tell people about your bags. Ever since my first camping trip on
the continental divide in Colorado I knew I would never switch bags. That night
I was completely soaked from wet snow and then it snowed an additional 2 ft
while I slept in a hammock at around 10000 ft. I put my wet boots in the bottom
of the bag before I went to sleep. I was warm and dry when I woke up and my
leather boots were too!
This last camping trip was in the sky islands in south east Arizona. It was
very warm during the four days of hiking and very cool at night. Everyone but
me was complaining about going back with a smelly bag. I told them I just wash
mine!
Sincerely,
Giles Blumer
Mr. Wigutow
I purchased your Antarctic bag with the FTRSS system about 3 years ago and
couldn’t be happier. I live in Northern Ontario and go on an annual camping
trip every March. We sleep in tents and spend the weekend ice fishing in the
day and enjoying the campfire by night. Two years ago the temperature at night
dropped to -25 Celsius. I was the only person warm out of the group. In the
morning my buddy (who froze) couldn’t believe that all I slept in was
my underwear and a tee shirt. He had his snowsuit on under his bag. This year,
he bought the same bag as I did. We both decided to put our bags to the test
this January. It was the coldest weekend of the year here. We slept directly
on the snow with your ground mat with our FTRSS Antarctic bags. The temperature
was -39 degrees Celsius without the windchill. We were both toasty warm even
considering our blood was quite “thin” we went to bed.
Thanks for a great product

Hi there. I wanted to take a minute to let you know that a
couple of friends and I tried the Wiggy Waders on a recent backcountry hiking
trip. There was snow on the ground and it was cold and normally we would strip
down and walk across with sandals on. I can’t tell you how nice it was
to slip these over our boots and pants. I have to say that it felt weird to
stay warm and dry walking across that knee high creek. They are now a permanent
part of our gear.
I am attaching a picture of me and one of my friends.
Thanks! Ken
Wiggy,
As a Wildlife Camera Operator I am fortunate to travel to some wonderful locations
and have a front row seat to some amazing events in the out of doors. I don't
consider myself a outdoor clothing expert, it is simply a tool to get the job
done and Wiggy's has always exceeded my expectations.
A few weeks ago I made a phone call to the Wiggy's factory for advice on an
upcoming shoot in Alberta. I have had experience with Wiggy's gear on a project
on the Aleutian Island's in Alaska and was thoroughly impressed with there
sleeping bag and Barren Grounds Parka. Springtime in the Aleutians sees fluctuating
temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees Fahrenheit, cold and damp. Living out
of a tent with no permanent heat source for 3 weeks was made easier with the
ability to warm up and dry out in my Wiggy's gear. I could put damp items in
my sleeping bag at night and wake up dry as can be in the morning! If one were
to wear down or wool items in this environment they would be in serious trouble
after a few days because there is simply no way to dry them out.
The shoot in Alberta was a different beast altogether. Wiggy makes bold statements
about the Antarctic Parka and bibs, "The Warmest Parka On The Market!" After
two weeks in temperatures reaching -47 Fahrenheit I would have to agree. My
task was to film wolves coming into kills. My day consisted of getting into
a blind before the sun came up and getting out after the sun went down, approximately
12 hours of sitting as still as possible. You can't sit still if you are cold!
Most of the time I would sit with the parka only partially zipped! Only the
mornings and evenings I would be fully zipped with the hood on tight. My feet
dawned Wiggy's Pac Boots which aren't rated for these temps but they do have
an oversized toe area which allows room for the liners to have full loft and
room to put foot warmers in, together I was able to kept my feet warm all day.
By the way I am based out of Arizona so I am NOT climatized to these conditions
at all.
Another great feature of the gear is the ability to wick away
moisture. On a few occasions I had to snowshoe to get into position. This is
always a problem in my line of work. I carry upwards of 80 pounds of gear,
add 6 feet of snow and snow shoes and you are going to warm up. Then you get
set up as quickly as possible and sit as still as you can be. Very dangerous
in extreme cold and this is where Wiggy's really separates itself from the
others. I would be warm and most importantly, dry, within minutes, the Lamilite
really draws out moisture.
Great performance plus Made in the USA! Great stuff Wiggy's.
Thanks again,
Joe
View from the blind. I know this is a coyote, I couldn't get permission to show a wolf.
Wiggy,
Got the Antarctic Parka in XL and it fits quite well. I am shocked because
it is exactly the same size (actually slightly shorter and smaller waist and
hem) than the L, but with slightly more room in the shoulders.
Did you make this specifically for my order? If you did, brilliant work.
Thanks so much for working with me on this. Here is a testimonial:
I have purchased the Supplex Sweater and Antarctic Parka and they have really
impressed me. Here is how they have performed for me so far:
The sweater, with a t-shirt and thin fleece under it, has kept me warm down
into the 20's F with light wind. This is at night, no warming-up, just a slow
walk outside.
The parka, oh my goodness, warmest garment I have ever worn. With just a t-shirt
underneath I reached 7F and felt I could stay out all night if I had to. This
was with no warming-up of any sort. I was tired and it was late at night. Also,
the parka performed spectacularly on a 28F night with 40mph winds. I did not
even feel chilled. The parka is no bigger as far as bulk than many popular
down-filled jackets, so if you are hesitating on getting this for say walking
in the city at night, I suggest you reconsider. It does not look ridiculously
big and the style is old school and understated.
I found the sizing on the Parka ran smaller than I anticipated and I needed
to exchange for a larger size. Mr. Wigutow responded personally (which I thought
was cool). I found the right size for me was an XL as I needed the space for
my rather wide shoulders (I am 5'9', 160lbs, 40R blazer). The sweater worked
for me in a L. If you are unsure of what size to order, I suggest you call
first.
I look forward to employing these pieces winter camping here in the northeast
USA, and I expect they will perform well. I find these pieces to be designed
and made with durability and warmth as a priority, two characteristics I have
found that are sorely lacking in other outerwear that I have tried. Look forward
to getting the sleeping bags next.
Jerry:
Just a note to let you know how happy Spencer is with the sleeping bag system
you “built” for him. He say the other guys in his unit have bags
that are clearly inferior, and they are heavier than his, to boot. His mother
is in North Carolina now. He is scheduled to depart soon for Afghanistan.
Anyway, he has been using the sleeping bag for several months in the field
and he says he absolutely loves it. He’s always warm and dry when the
other guys are wet and cold. He says it’s hard to believe how much better
his sleeping bag system is, compared to the government issued junk.
Thanks again for your help. It is such a mystery to me why our soldiers are
sent to war with inferior gear.

Jerry,
Got my order and just wanted to say thanks. I've had many sleeping bags over
the years, but yours is by far the best made product I've ever owned. This
coming month I'm teaching in 3 wilderness survival courses and will be using
your bag to stay toasty. Not only are your products great but your customer
service is top notch.
Thanks again for such great service,
Joshua Seymour
I purchased your Cagoule and have honestly never been happier
with any raingear that I have ever owned.
I use it for backpacking, hunting, and for saltwater fishing off-shore in the
Sea of Cortez in rough, cold, and rainy weather. My Wiggy’s Cagoule performs
very well to keep me dry no matter what.
Thank you for a great product.

Dear Mr. Wiggy,
I would like to thank you for the wonderful antarctic parka I received today.
I am really excited to have such a really well-made yet attractive winter coat.
I'd been wearing the same winter coat for a minimum of twelve years. It's the
Frankenstein coat, with sewn up tears and places where the stitches have had
to be reinforced. Frankly, I'd still rather wear that Frankenstein coat than
the dodgy Made in China stuff in the stores. There are only so many repairs
you can do, though. My dad had gotten a Wiggys antarctic parka for Christmas
in 2009, though, and his enthusiasm for his parka (and he's usually close-mouthed)
convinced me to try your antarctic parka. I am glad I did.
Usually when I get clothing on-line or in a catalog, my first thought is usually
about how good the item will look on me. That's where my thoughts were here.
But as I opened the box, unwrapped the coat, and held it in my hands, my mind
went in another direction: it was immediately obvious this was a superior-constructed
garment. The stitching and seams, the subtle reinforcment, the sturdiness of
the fabric...after five years of looking for a new coat, I didn't just find
a decent or a good one; I found the perfect winter coat! I had to try it on,
of course, and it was full enough to be comfortable without being bulky, and
it really worked as well as advertised outside. (Then I did give into vanity
and admired how nice it looked on me. :-) )
I could not be happier with my purchase. Thank you so much for offering the
best winter coat I have ever owned!
Sincerely,
Lisa Shirin
I was able to get your search engine rankings
for "best sleeping bag" onto
page one where it's always belonged. It's too bad that doesn't interest you.
Thanks for the great bag (superlight arrived last week). First time I used
it was on the snow, two pads, and no tent. Got pretty close to it's temperature
rating, and I don't think I've ever had so much uninterrupted sleep while sleeping
outside in single digits F in my life.

I just got back from a camping trip in Algonquin Provincial
Park located in the Province of Ontario. That weekend we had an unexpected
deep freeze. Saturday and Sunday night we saw temperatures of -33F
(-44Fwith the windchill ). My Super light FTRSS kept me warm both nights. My
friend and I were in a 2 man - 4 season tent, using Thermarest Prolite matresses
(R-Value=2.2). His military modular sleep system unfortunately did not perform
as well. To stay warm he had to wear his outdoor gear, including gloves and
a balaclava. All I wore was Under Armour Cold Gear and fleece pants and top.
I had to unzip the top around 1am because I was starting to sweat. My friend
is now thinking about selling his sleeping bag system and replacing it with
one of yours.

Jerry,
After last winters nasty -15deg weather, and my glowing (gloating?)
praise of my then new FTRSS, two of my regular camping buddies have acquired
Ultralight FTRSS's of their own, another buddy now has a Superlight, and even
my own Dad got a Superlight Hunter. You may remember in fact, as my Dad and
I purchased all these bags at once over this past Labor Day in your Grand Junction
store.
It wasn't nearly as cold here this year, but everyone is drinking
the Wiggy's Kool Aid now, and happily. Last night could have been a commercial
for you, three FTRSS's, a Superlight, and another guy showed up with an Ultima
Thule. We were all way 'over-bagged' but we were also all happy and warm.
I've since purchased a Nautilus from you, and I have slept
in it nearly every night since I got it (a little over two months) and I love
it. It makes a great blanket too. I also have an extra Overbag now as well,
just in case. And in my quest to make all of it easier to pack, I also have
two of your lateral compression stuff sacks, which I am very pleased with.
Lastly, I recently bought a Northface Tri-Climate jacket. I
was very pleased that my Lamilte jacket liner I purchased from you zipped right
into the Northface shell, to make one heck of a warm winter coat, much warmer
than with the Northface fleece liner.
Keep making this stuff, we the Wiggy's Faithful will keep convincing
the non-believers that your gear is as good as it gets.
-Andrew
Dear Wiggy,
I have recently used a Wiggy's bag (Ultimate Thule) for the first time, and
I am a believer! The temp in the Allegheny mountains of PA got to below freezing
overnight, and I slept as warm as a bug in a rug wearing only a pair of boxer
shorts. I previously owned a Eureka Casper (rated to +15) and I know from past
use that I would have been scrambling to put on long johns, socks, and a fleece
under similar conditions. Last winter, in order to test my Eureka, I actually
set up my tent out on my deck, and spent the night in temps that got down into
the mid- teens. As you may guess, I was pretty darn cold. Teeth chattering
cold! I stuck it out, knowing that safety was as close as my house's backdoor,
but if I had been out in the field, I would have been forced to get up and
build a fire. Can't wait to get out in my Thule when the temp gets even colder.
I have total confidence in that bag.
Dear Wiggys,
I purchased a Hunter Super Lt. a few years ago and used it on two Colorado
elk hunts in mild temperatures where it wan not really tested. I just returned
from a moose hunt on the Iditarod River in western Alaska. I don't know how cold
it was, but every morning there was a layer of ice on all our gear and our wading
boots were frozen stiff. While my tent mates were zipped up all the way in their
mummy bags breathing out their blowholes, I was toasty warm in my Wiggys bag
with the zipper half way down. At the beginning of the trip they were mocking
me for the size my bag, as their bags compacted to half its size. At the end
of the trip they were eyeballing it and I had to make sure it wound up in the
right gear pile when we left Alaska.
Thank you for your excellent “American Made” product.
Sincerely,
Brett Lawson

Dear Mr. Wigatou,
I just want to repeat what others have been saying about your sleeping
bags.
I purchased a Nautilus rectangular sleeping bag from you earlier this year
and was glad you persuaded me from my original ideas on purchasing the
Desert. The Nautilus has performed great at fire base camps in the
summertime.
Thanks again for a great product.

Hello Wiggy,
The gear arrived today! That was fast, I was thinking it would arrive in early
September. Thanks very much for the fast service. The Jacket and Bib fit perfectly,
as do the mittens. I am very happy with the quality as well. I'm also very
happy with the quality of the boots. When I first saw them I thought that I
had made a mistake on sizing, but comarping with my old boots they were the
same size. Then I remember your description of how they are roomier than normal
boots. They are so much more comfortable than my old ones. My old ones, while
being nice boots, only gave a few mm of wiggle room in the front. These are
lot roomier.
I ususally dread the long winter here, this year I'm almost looking forward
to it. I want to go out and test the clothing. I don't think I'll have numb
feet or arms this year.
You'll most likely be hearing from me the next time I need more winter clothing.
Cheers,

Hi Jerry and Co
I have now tried the superlight sleeping bag and the ground pad over 7
days of camping, in two trips.
The sleeping bag is the best I have ever used. For the first time in my
life (and I have been camping/sailing for more than half a century) I
have a sleeping bag that is warm enough for me. With every bag I have
had before, I needed fleece liners and/or a heavy woolen blanket as
well. I have learned to mistrust what manufacturers and magazine
reviewers have said about sleeping bags. This is why I asked for a
Superlight, even though Jerry initially suggested I get an Ultralight.
Now, having used the Superlight, I reckon Wiggy's can be trusted, and I
probably would have been fine with an Ultralight. Perhaps I will get one
later, for lightweight trips in the non-Winter months.
I have lived and camped in Sweden, where the climate is, I think, not
unlike where you are, with low temperatures in winter, but basically a
dry cold. Here in Scotland, we do not get the actual temperatures as low
(except for the mountains in winter), but the cold is damp and
penetrating. I am now totally confident that I have an ideal sleeping
bag for my purposes.
Best wishes

Hey this email is overdue.
A couple months ago, I was on a trip and forgot my bivy sack. I camped along
the Appalachian Trail and the shelter was full, so I just retreated along
the trail and camped out without protection. It was cool because I got to
see synchronous fireflies for the first time. (You might need to look them
up.) Then it rained. Kinda steady, not just a drizzle, but I stayed warm.
I bought a longer bag than I am tall, so I can just get completely inside
and the bag never soaked through. Awesome!
I last week hiked the Colorado Trail. You know it. My bag is ten years old,
but still keeps me warm camping outside without a tent during a frost. For
several nights in a row the bag got wet (ten year old bivy sack doesn't work
as well as ten year old sleeping bag), and I was unable to dry it out. Was
still warm. It was so wet that when I finally hung it up to dry, it was dripping
wet, but never failed to give me a good night's sleep.
I'm happy to have slept it in all 24 nights of my CT hike, and for my upcoming
Utah backcountry trip and for three weeks at Burning Man this year.
Thanks again.
Wiggy,
I just wanted to thank you for taking care of me. Never in my mind would any
other company replace a sleeping bag that was 17 years old due to loft issues.
I am sure I would have received the explanation that it was a limited lifetime
warranty and they meant the lifetime of the bag and that it had met it’s
lifetime. I have used the super light bag extensively in the Rocky mountains
in Canada and now live in Utah and look forward to many more years of staying
warm with one of the best bags made. I hope to one day add the over bag to
have the FTRSS. I have recommended this bag to everyone and anyone for the
last 17 years I have had it, and I hope that it has enlightened others to the
quality and they too have become customers. It is always great when on a camp
and someone’s down bag gets wet and is useless knowing I never have to
worry about that.
Thanks again Jeff
Jerry,
I've been an avid camper and outdoorsman since the the age of 6 (23 years
now), and I must say that the Ultralight FTRSS is the best piece of gear I've
owned in that time.
Each winter now for the past few years I go on a 2-4 day backpacking trip
in northern Missouri. My friends and I specifically choose a weekend with a
miserable forecast, we use only what we can carry in, and practice winter survival
skills along with enjoying a very peaceful time, nasty weather notwithstanding.
For the past 3 years I've used a Eureka brand backpacking bag rated to 15degrees.
It packs down nice and small, but is too narrow at the shoulder to sleep comfortably
in. And the temperatures in January in northern Missouri are rarely in the
comfort range of 15 deg.
This past year I took my brand new Ultralight FTRSS. I got the long/wide model
(I'm 6', 190 lbs, wear a 42R jacket). My initial impressions of the bag were
that it was built like a brick outhouse. High quality, heavy duty, and VERY
roomy. I can fit myself, and the clothing I want kept warm in this bag and
have room to move.
The weather cold. As cold as any trip we had yet attempted. While my companions
readied themselves for bed in either a surplus MSS or a brand new 0deg Cabelas
brand bag, I set up my FTRSS inside a goretex
bivy, on a thermarest inflatable and a ridgerest pad.
They all slept in their clothes, I went down to my drawers. I was warm. For
the first time on one of these trips, I slept like a baby.
At about 2AM, I woke up to the sounds of two of my friends discussing how
cold they were. One of them in a brand new 0deg rated bag, the other in a no
name bag of dubious origin. After assessing the situation, and the weather
(it was snowing hard, and only one of the two vehicles was 4wd), we decided
to pack up and leave early. Two of the 4 guys had gear failure that was bordering
on dangerous. The MSS still worked, but my Wiggy bag shined.
It was -15deg that night. And I slept warm. Thanks Jerry. My FTRSS is big
and heavy, but I'll take that in stride, knowing that it will do its job when
the time comes.
-Andrew
Wiggy,
I thought that I would send my thanks to you for making such a great pair of boots!
I also want to convey something that I do not see often in the letters from
other people; you see the results of your products in dealing with cold weather;
but I want to mention that your boots can keep feet comfortable even in warm
temperatures. I recently took a brisk 2 mile hike around the Gettysburg National
Battlefield in your Lamilite lined leather boots; first off, these are super
comfortable - better than the "hiking" boots
that I purchased from a well-known manufacturer. The temperature was in the
75 to 80 degree range; all I had on was simple cotton socks; well your boots
kept my feet cool and not clammy feeling like my "hiking" boots
I mentioned; I got back to my car and took the boots off out of curiosity
- my socks were completely dry. By the way, my "hiking" boots have
some sort of waterproof/breathable liner (not Goretex) - and I can say that
these boots definately do not breath like your Lamilite lined boots!
I'm looking forward to
trying out your sleeping bag system and the other clothing I have purchased
from you.
Best regards,
Rob Swales
I started guiding rivers in and around Moab, UT eight years ago. I was using
an older sleeping bag that didn't keep me warm at all. A fellow guide told
me about your bags, so I thought I'd check them out. I am always cold when
I sleep, especially outdoors. I've never found a bag that could keep me
warm. I wanted a mummy bag, but I am claustrophobic, so I've always had
a hard time finding one I can move around in. I went to your store in Grand
Junction, where your employees helped me find the perfect bag. I ended
up choosing a mummy bag that is sized for an extra-large man, but I love
it! I can curl up in it, and I have never been cold at night, even when
camping in freezing temperatures! I have used that bag every night for
the past seven summers, and will continue to use it forever! It still looks
and feels like new! I can't thank you enough for solving my sleeping bag
woes, all with one bag!
Thanks for making the greatest
sleeping bags out there!

I first heard
about your gear from a friend of mind about five years ago. Not having a
lot of money, but wanting good gear I began researching winter gear and added
it all up against my own experience – first and foremost that good
gear takes care of you, bad gear does not. After reading the information
on Lamilite I was sold. I also realize what a rip-off the major gear companies
were trying to put over on outdoors enthusiasts. After purchasing and then
using the Ultima Thule, I became a devotee! Every chance I get, I recommend
Wiggys’ products to fellow outdoorsman. After one particularly hard
day of hiking in harsh winter conditions here in northern Michigan, we made
camp. My feet were wet from snow and perspiration. I hated to go to sleep
with wet feet, but I was wearing my last pair of socks that wasn’t
frozen solid. When I woke in the morning, my feet were completely dry and
my bag wasn’t clammy at all. I have slept in my Ultima Thule in temps
as low as minus 30 and have remained warm and dry. Thank you for making excellent
products. As a Marine veteran, I appreciate you providing gear to our military.

Hi Wiggy,
I've been winter camping with our scout troop for 10 years and this weekend
was the first time that I was comfortable through the night. The Hunter Ultima
Thule performed as advertised and way beyond my expectations.
One of my biggest problems,
at 6'2'" 220 lbs, has always been claustrophobia. In order to stay warm
in my other bags I've always had to wear extra clothes which equals extra
bulk and that "tied in a pretzel" feeling during the night. The
temps on our campout were in the teens and after 10 minutes in the bag I
shed my long johns and socks. Warm as toast all night long. Our next 2 campouts
will be in the Adirondacks and there will plenty of snow and temps well below
zero. I've always loved those campouts in the Adirondacks but I've always
dreaded the night because I knew that I wouldn't get a good night's sleep
.... not so this year!
I'm sold on your products
... next order will be for a pair of your mittens .... and then the boots.
Take care and have a great holiday,
Jack
Hello,
Do I understand correctly that you are the original maker of the Olam sleeping bags? If so, congratulations!
I had one of your very
first factory "seconds" [one that unzipped completely to mate to another bag] for testing of the laminating for movable insulation. [much of my research was published [without credit] by Wm. Langdon in his book by that name]
I like the laminated construction
and started using that test bag for camping. It quickly became my favorite
because it was comfortable & durable. I lamented its loss when it was stolen.
If conditions were bad,
I put my North Face Chrysalis inside the Olam bag. Even better, I had an
unnamed down bag that would unzip & mate to it for
camping with my wife. [I still have that bag but the baffles were torn out!]
I'm glad to see you're
still going strong & appreciate your innovations in
the field.
Best wishes & thanks!
Tom
Hi Jerry,
I purchased one of your vests last year, and recently discovered that it makes
a perfect insulating layer to be worn under a leather motorcycle jacket. Last
spring I purchased a windproof fleece to wear under my leather jacket in colder
weather, primarily because it had a tall zip up windproof collar, and my neck
was taking most of the abuse when riding in cold temperatures. As the weather
got colder, however, I found my core was getting too cold, and once that begins,
you find yourself riding all stiff and hunched up, and this is not a safe way
to operate a motorcycle. On a recent ride, I put my vest under the windproof
fleece, and then topped it with my leather jacket. Problem solved! No more
cold torso! The lamilite is not bulky, but it keeps me very warm. Many riders
use electric vests for this purpose, but since I happily own so many other
Wiggys' products, and have found all of them to perform to my satisfaction,
I thought I would give the vest a try in a challenging environment.
Thanks for making such great products!
Scott Severance
PS - I think your Lamilite sweater is probably the most useful garment made.
It is a perfect design, and unbelievably warm. Great as is for cold temperatures,
and the perfect insulating layer under something windproof for ice fishing.
Dear Wiggy,
In 2006 myself and three others, including my son, ordered 4 XXL 100 in long
Antarctic bags from you. We were looking for the BEST bag in the world for
an Alaskan caribou hunt and we definitely found it. Your sleeping bags performed
perfectly and they are truly amazing in their capabilities. We slept on half
inch waffle foam sleeping pads. Each morning we would throw our bags back and
there would be puddles of water in the waffle indentations. No moisture was
present inside the bag though. Our body moisture through the night was transferred
to the outside and away, keeping us warm.
We just recently returned from our second trip to Alaska on an unguided caribou
hunt and this time the weather was much colder. Here is an amazing testimonial
about your products: My son, Clinton Connor came in from a really hard day
of hiking while caribou hunting. It had been raining all day and he was cold,
wet and exhausted. It was so cold, he didn't want to take his clothes off before
crawling inside the Wiggy's......so he just took his boots off, and crawled
inside. The next morning, (after staying warm all night) he awoke to find a
sheen of water had condensed on the outside of the bag and of course under
it in the waffle pad. He brushed the water off but noticed that the inside
of the bag was still dry. To his amazement, HIS SOAKING WET CLOTHES HE SLEPT
IN WERE NOW ALSO DRY......
Our outfitter, Brad Salsaa of Weguidealaska.com also uses your products. At
his departure point in Kotzebue, he had a young man who was his "helper." He
helped the hunters load their gear into the planes, put away their gun cases,
packed the food and supplies, etc.
Upon returning from our hunt, he began asking me about our sleeping bags and
why were they all the same. So I told him. He told me he was going on a caribou
hunt at the end of season as a bonus from Brad. I asked if he had a bag and
he said no. He was a nice young man and very helpful to all of us so I just
gave him my Wiggy's. You would have thought I handed him a winning lottery
ticket.
Just wanted to pass this along to you and let you know I will probably be ordering
another bag from you soon. I had you make me a spare which is the XXL Antarctic
but with a 40 in. width at the shoulders, tapering down to the standard mummy
at the foot, 100 in. long. The bag I gave the young man was the standard 36
in at the shoulders and it was just a tad too small for me. I am 6 ft 7in.
and 320 pounds. I like to have two of everything I might ever need for the
outdoors, just in case something happens to one or I take a notion to give
one away to a deserving young man.
Thanks again for making the best piece of hunting equipment since the Model
70 Winchester.
With Best Regards,
Rodger D. Connor
Dear Wiggy's:
I just wanted to write and let you know how much I appreciate the superior
product that you manufacure. I am a Special Agent with the US Naval
Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and have deployed to Djibouti, Africa
and Iraq twice. I personally bought one of your desert sleeping bags back
in early 2007 and have used it in Africa and Iraq in hot climates and it has
performed magnificently! Usually I start out the night laying on top of the
bag and it breathes so I don't sweat underneath and later as the desert
night gets colder, I'll climb in the bag where it keeps me just toasty in
the 40-50 degree temperatures, again without sweating inside the bag! NCIS
has just ordered a bunch of your Ultima Thule bags for issue to us on
deployments to Afghanistan and I am looking forward to many good nights
sleeping in that bag in the bitter cold. Thank you for making such a great
product and for producing it in the US, it's nice to support American
workers as well!
Sincerely Yours,
Taylor
Dear Wiggys,
I was never sure about the claim that your insulation keeps you warm when wet.
On my last deployment we encountered a night with near 100% humidity. Heavy
fog. While others complained that their bag got wet and soaked through into
the bag and they got cold and wet, I never did. I stayed warm and dry without
a tent or tarp to sleep under. I am a firm believer in Wiggys bags. Thanks
for a great product.
Steve
Well Wiggy.
The rainy season has hit here hard and I had the pleasure of FINALLY sleeping
in your Nautilus for 4 nights straight at temps from around 52 to 72 with all
night long rains.
I ordered the black and green knowing that I could place the black side up for
absorbing the heat from the sun, expediting the dry out process.
When I first contacted you about another bag you recommended the Nautilus
due to my large stature and the rainforest environment.
You have a story where you used this bag....and designed it.....specifically
for when you lived on a boat in the Bahamas, years ago.
I only have one suggestion.
Name it the Jungle bag because it is the only thing that will work properly
in a rainforest.
I also killed a couple of my hogs the other day and thank God I had your Armadillo
gloves on. What a grip !
Pura Vida ! From the Oasis of the Toucans at Lake Arenal, Costa Rica.
Thank you for making great "tools". I guide tours in the rainforest
so only the best "tools" in the world will suit me.You got 'em !
Thank you for being #1.
Only REAL Americans put quality over profit.
That would be you.
Take care. Doug Ward
Dear Wiggy;
I began with one of your overbags nearly ten years ago when I first began
camping extensively. Since then I’ve slept approximately 1,000 nights
in a sleeping bag...the majority in one of your models (either my original
Overbag or Super Light or in combination). I say the majority because I always
have to compare your bags to the “latest and greatest”. I’ve
slept in everything from extremely high dollar 850+ fill down bags to the
latest and greatest synthetic fills. This past year I have stopped my quest
for the best sleeping bag because I found it some ten years ago. There are
lighter bags, there are more compressible bags, but none compare to the overall
comfort, reliability and performance of the sleeping bags you have out there.
The key items, in my opinion, to Wiggy’s sleeping bags are Lamilite® insulation,
quality construction and no. 10 YKK zippers. If you skimp on any of these
items you’re just another sleeping bag.
Thanks for the outstanding product, Matt Furlong
I have to say I love your sleeping bags! I now own three of them an
overbag, a light 20, and your 0 bag! I have worked at a major outdoor chain
for five years sold all the brands and I have been camping hiking and backpacking
for 25 years! Two bags I purchased through cabelas and since they do
not offer them now I have bought my 20 degree bag and mattress pad from you
directly! It really is true you can leave your bag I'n a pack ready to go
and it maintains loft. In addition I can crawl I'm your bags and it's like
they have a thermostat I am never too hot or cold! My friends sleep
out in other bags and freeze or sweat! They are never comfortable. Your bags
are made in the USA and are superior in costruction! They are with your disount
online within everyone's price considering next to or even before your knife
a good sleeping bag is paramount. Honestly feeling the difference your bag
could save my life in conditions where others would fail. Let's just say
if I fell in a creek and had to crawl into my bag to re-warm it would be
my prayer it was yours!
My next purchase will probably be a wiggys single wall water bottle and hat.
It's a lie gear cannot be made in America at a reasonable price and us make
livable wages! Your products are better, made in the +USA and are unequaled!
They are better then major brand bags made
overseas costing as much or more!
Chuck
I just wanted
to let you all know, I am currently in the middle east serving with a unit,
we were issued your sleeping bags and I have got to tell you that in all
my years of the military and hunting and camping this is the best sleeping
bag I have ever used in my life, I hope to be able to get some of them, I
have three kids back home who love to hunt, fish and camp just like me, even
the few times I have had the opportunity to sleep on a mattress with sheets
over here I put my bag on top of the bed and sleep in it. You have a very
good product. As you are a good Colorado neighbor, I’m from Kansas,
I have a friend who is taking me Elk and Antelope hunting when I get back,
what bag would you recomend, and temp rating, that would still be useable
in Kansas when we get back, Thanks and keep up the good work. So far I haven’t
found anyone who doesn’t like your bag.
Kevin
Hi my name
is Dustin. I am looking to get another Wiggys sleeping bag. I want the same
model that the Army national guard unit issued me., I don't know what model
it was. All I know it was black with no outter shell, Unlike the crap sleeping
bag they issued me when I went to Iraq. Yeah they made me turn in my great
Wiggy sleeping bag that I loved, for a 3 piece sleeping bag system "CRAP" that
didn't even fit me. I shouldn't have ever of turned in my Wiggys. BIG MISTAKE.
I first was issued that sleeping bag in 1997, They issued that sleeping bag
to me because I'am taller then 6'2.lucky me. I had many years service with
it, with out failure. Very quality product that gave me great sleep in the
coldest nights and the hottest nights. Unlike like the 3 piece system I had
in Iraq.
The Army National Guard unit that you sold this sleeping bag to was the 142nd
Engineers. Out of Camp Ripley Minnesota. So if you could figure out what
system you sold them, that would help me out greatly. You have so many to
choose from. I just want to make sure I get the right one.
Thank You, Dustin
Dear Jerry,
I first heard of the Wiggy’s Bag about 15 years ago when I was stationed
in Alaska with the Army. I was the commander and the light reconnaissance
unit was required to perform Airborne operations and then spend days in the
cold observing on the enemy. As you can imagine, the old adage “travel
light; freeze at night” that is known to all Paratroopers the world
over, meaning, they have to travel light so they take the minimum amount
of cold weather gear and just suck it up at night, does not work in the cold,
Arctic conditions of Alaska or Afghanistan.
Our Science Officer for our unit said he found a sleeping bag company that
claimed to make a 3-bag system that could be tailored for our operations
in the desert or in the Arctic and was very light and compressed to a much
smaller size than the current Army Cold weather Sleeping bag system. After
reading the marketing material, I decided I would test a bag personally.
If it worked for me, I felt confident my Troops would like the bag.
I received the bag and waited a few days until the predicted temperatures
were well below minus 40 Fahrenheit, which also equals minus 40 Celsius.
I went to the field with my Troops and the temperature during the day was
a “nippy” minus 60 F. The first evening, I recorded the temperature
at minus 64 F, laid out the Wiggy’s Sleeping Pad, laid out the 3-bag
sleeping bag system, climbed into the bag with no shelter around me or heating
source and stripped down to my long johns for the night.
I knew right away that this was a different bag than any I had ever used
(I had been in the Army for over 16 years at that point and had been camping
as a Boy Scout for a long time prior to my Army career) as I quickly got
the bag warmed up by just moving around to strip down inside the bag. I settled
down and within minutes I was asleep. Normally, with the Army Sleeping bag,
I would have woken up a few minutes later from my feet being cold. Instead,
I slept for 3 solid hours until it was time for me to get up and go back
to work. I was so surprised I had to check my thermometer to see if the temperature
had risen during the night. It was still minus 64 F and I was comfortable
in the bag. I got dressed in the bag and got out, rolled up the bag and put
it in the bottom compartment of my rucksack without a problem. I talked about
this bag all day the next day. That next evening, with the temperatures again
at minus 64 F, I settled down for another comfortable nap without getting
cold again. I was sold and immediately grabbed my Supply Officer and told
him to order enough for our Reconnaissance group. After the field problem,
I went to my Commanding General and requested an order for the entire unit
as soon as possible. It took a couple of years to outfit everyone but every
one of my Soldiers said it was the best bag they ever used.
This was over 14 years ago and I have stayed in touch with Jerry Wigutow
since then. If ever there was an American who truly took care of the Troops
and understood what they need in combat, it is Jerry. I always recommend
his bags and equipment to my friends in the military and friends who spend
any time in the outdoors. There is no finer equipment, company or person
than Jerry Wigutow and the Wiggy’s Company.
Jerry, thanks for all you do for our great country!

Hello
I Used your Superlight bag for an overnight hike 2 weeks ago in Massachusetts.
We slept in a Lean-To on the AT, the overnight temp was about 10deg F. There
was about a 15 mph wind for half the night blowing into the lean-to at times.
The Superlight performed splendidly, I was very warm and comfortable sleeping
without any clothing. This bag is excellent and I am thrilled to be able to
purchase an American manufactured product for my purpose. I have managed to
stay employed as a Toolmaker for 30 years and what has happened to American
Manufacturing is truly a crime. I buy American whenever possible but the number
of choices available in Sleeping Bags and Outdoor Clothing is quite limited.
I'm really happy I discovered Wiggy's and am looking forward to trying the
Lamilite Booties I ordered on the next trip.
Thanks Much

Dear Sir
I am currently engaged in a solo circumnavigation of the 48 contiguous states by canoe. I have so far rowed my canoe from Corpus Christi, Texas, along the Gulf Coast to Key West, up the East Coast to the Canadian Border and across northern New England to Upstate New York.
I have dedicated my trip
to America's Heroes and all my equipment is made in the USA. I only do this
during the summer months. I have been at it since 2002.
My first season, I used
an old army surplus down sleeping bag. It was heavy bulky, and useless when
it got wet.
Then I ordered a Wiggy's
component system through a military catalogue. It may have been Brigade Quartermaster's.
I don't remember.
That Wiggy's bag has been
with me for six years now. I spend three to six months every year sleeping
on the ground. I do a lot of camping even when I am not on my canoe trip.
I have camped from more
than 100 ft. below sea level in death Valley and along the Salton Sea to
10,000 ft above sea level in Colorado Rockies and the San Bernadino mountains
in the winter.
I have slept in swamps deserts and the deep woods.
In the past six years I
have probably used my bag more than the average person will use one in two
lifetimes. My Wiggy's bag is still as good as it was the day I bought it.
I have only one problem.
I loaned my pillow to someone who was taking a long airplane ride and she
left it on the plane. I checked your online catalog and You don't have the
pillows listed in your accessories is there any way that I can buy one.

Hello Wiggy,
First of all I wanted to say what a lifesaver my ultralight bag was. Who would
have thought that first season elk would be so cold? It was +16 degrees at
2pm on Sunday afternoon, and my Wiggy's bag was the only place that I could
warm up (besides warming up the car and cranking the heater.
I'm a "Native Angeleno" and
the fact that I slept comfortably and warm on our hunt is a testament to
what a great sleeping bag you folks have.
Many Thanks, Cliff Shelby,

HI WIGGY!
RECEIVED MY GLOVES.....
! LOVE THEM!!!! FIRST TIME I'VE HAD WARM HANDS IN 53 YEARS OF SKIING!
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP!
PATTY
Wiggy,
For 40 years I have recommended mittens versus gloves for skiers. I still have the first mittens I purchased from Grandoe Glove company in the late 1960's.They were the first mittens that were insulated with the continuous filament fiber. They have had years of very hard use and I still use them when temperatures are in the minus times. If you want warm hands when the temperatures drop below about 25 degrees you want to be wearing mittens. Preferably mittens that we sell, I guarantee they will out perform all others that can be bought from other companies.
Jerry,
My name is Mike Fyten. I work for Mountain Homes Youth Ranch in Vernal, UT.
I have been with them for 2 years now.
I walked in to your factory/showroom in late 2007 and talked with you about
needing a better sleeping system. I was using a commercial bag (Sierra Designs)
rated to -10 and was always cold. Up on the Roan where we camp it gets down
to -20 to -30 in the winter. You mentioned to me that Francis from MHYR had
been in contact with you to purchase Wiggy's bags for the program.
I bought an FTRSS. It is a Super Light with the overbag. I use it 16 days
a month, every month for over a year now. I wash it, I use it at work and
at play in the Colorado mountains, and it is BY FAR the best sleeping bag
I have ever owned. It is showing no wear, no torn seams, no problems at all.
It washed and comes back to perfect condition every wash.
The youth and adults in our program use the FTRSS at the -60 rating I believe.
They perform awesome all the time. The students in camp are always warm,
no zipper failures, no problems at all.
Thank you for a superior product. I will own a Wiggy's for the rest of my
life. I am wanting to upgrade just a touch and possibly get an Ultima Thule
to use with my overbag for a bit more cold weather protection. I am also
very intersted in your bivy shelter.
Regards, Mike Fyten
I think
I may have told you, but I was quite impressed by your Pack Boots whichI
used up north of Fairbanks the first week of last December. Temps went down
to -40 at night and the high during the day for a couple of days was -22.
The boots performed beyond my expectations. Less than half the weight of
my Cabelas Trans Alaskans. I was up at Chena and spent about 3 hours at night
on a ridge watching (a pale version of) the Lights. Everyone else that came
up on the Snow Cat spent most of the time in the Yert because their feet
were cold in Bunny and assorted Pack Boots. I spent most of my time outside
(what I came up there for) just standing around and quite comfortable with
toasty toes.
I also did quite a bit
of time hiking around during the nights and (very short) days with my camera.
What was most amazing was that even after prolonged times hiking around,
when I took the boots off, the booties were not wet, damp, or require drying.
A few very few small wet spots on the nylon where it came into contact with
the rubber at the front of the boot (which dried in minutes), but the insulation
was bone dry. Quite an advance over felt and foil/felt I've used in the past.
If I want more ankle support, I'll use your Lamilite booties inside my Cabela's
boots, but won't have as much toe wiggle-room, so less loft.

I'm certain
you get sick of hearing this but, what a great sleeping bag! I have just
spent last weekend in the bag here North of Chicago. Temps went down to 11F
and I was almost too warm. Off came the hat and socks and I may even consider
altering my sleeping clothes. As an old “by the book” Winter
camper (and Winter Camping Trainer), before bed, I strip off ALL of the day’s
cloths and put on fresh, dry , cold stuff. So by the time you jump into your
bag, your shivering. Years past, I’ve had to pull up into a ball to
get myself warm and wait 15-30 minutes. In my Wiggy, I slipped into the bag
and by the time I fully adjusted the hood cords, I was already getting warm.
From that point, I could just lay flat in amazement. I honestly caught myself
laying there grinning; I’m serious! Also, the typical cold back and
bottom just wasn’t there. Now I was on top of snow and 2- thermo-rests,
but that isn’t new for me for winter camping and I have always had
a cooler back.
I went with the wider size and very glad I did. Now I can load it up with
tomorrow’s base layer of clothes in a pillow case and I have a warmer
start to my frigid AM. I’m even going to try to get my boot liners
in there somewhere. As I understand it, I really don’t have to worry
if they’re damp because they’ll still dry out in the bag yet
won’t make me cold at night. That’ll be a treat I’ve never
had before.
This next weekend may be a bit more of a challenge; I hear the temps could
drop below 0 but I’ll bet I’ll have no issues. So many in my
camping groups ask me “How’s the Wiggy?” I think everyone
is tired of sleeping cold but just didn’t know there was a true option
outside of a bag in a bag in a bag and all the issues that go with that;
too hot, sweat then get cold, can’t vent, uneven temps, sliding bags,
where are all the zippers, etc.
Super great job guys! You have finally enabled me to check one more thing
off my Winter Camping Checklist. WARM SLEEP SYSTEM – Check !
Glenn Thompson - A very happy camper
I don't
usually write to manufacturers, but your products are so great I felt compelled
to!
I love wiggy's sleeping bags. I have three - the overbag, ultralight, and
ultimate thule...
Your bags are excellent - and even better by being washable.
I think you are doing yourselves a disservice by underrating your bags. I
have consistently found that the overbag is good down to about 20 degrees,
a good 15 degrees under its rating of 35. The ultralight, which is rated
for 20, I have consistently found good to about 0... And the thule, well,
it hasn't gotten cold enough the last two winters to use it. It is simply
that warm!!! Instead I have been using the ultralight with the overbag for
down to about -25 (the coldest its gotten around here in a long time) and
could have gone much colder, the two of them pack up with less mass than
the thule (winter = backpacking, so smaller footprints are better). The few
times I've tried the thule, it was just too warm - at least I'm ready for
serious cold if we ever get that kind of weather again.
I have been using and abusing my bags extensively over the last two years,
activities ranging from canoing/kayak camping, backpacking, winter camping,
etc.etc. I typically get out every weekend in the summer, and at least two
weekends a month in the winter. The bags are routinely stuffed into compression
bags, and are not always in the best environments (damp, rainy, muddy, etc.).
They have never let me down, even when wet. In fact, these are the only bags
I know of that work even when soaked through - just wring the water out and
go to sleep, everything's dry in the morning! They have handled my use quite
well, even compressed every weekend, the loft always seems to be like new
after a few minutes. They hardly show any wear and tear, which I still can't
believe.
I highly recommend wiggy's bags to everyone I know. They just can't be beat!!!
A very satisfied customer,

Southtowns Area, NY
I received
the Desert bag yesterday. Thanks for the great service.
I spent the night outside in my net survival hammock with my new bag zipped
snugly around the outside like is my want (I was very pleased to find the bag
had a draw string to make the bag more cocoon like. Maybe you should put that
in the description). The temperature hovered around 59 degrees and I kept the
draw string loose so as not to overheat. It turned misty and breezy around
1:30 a.m. and the dripping woke me. At one point the outside of the bag was
totally covered with droplets but the inside stayed warm and dry and I never
did get to close the bag tightly. Next week it's supposed to get 26 degrees
here. I hope to test again then, maybe with a tarp-tent and longjohns.
Greg Vandervelde P.S. My brother, Steve Vandervelde, brought a pair of your leggings some years
back and thay are so warm he hardly gets to wear them, here in South Carolina,
even though he works outside almost every day.
Hi Jerry,
Just wanted to say thanks for exchanging the vest for me. I really like the
new camo design, and even though I am sure that you hear this all the time,
I also wanted to say what a quality product this is! Everything from the
zipper to the stitching to the snaps reveals the care that went into this
product, and I am sure that I will get many years of service from it.
My list of Wiggy's products continues to grow at a steady rate, and I am
thoroughly pleased with all of them. Thanks for making a product that does
what it claims!
Best wishes for the holiday season!

Dear Wiggy's
-
I just wanted to thank you for making an incredible product. I have been
using your FTRSS for about five years now - everywhere from the middle of
a howling 18-hour storm in the mountains of Canada's Jasper national park
to a backwoods cabin in Alaska to high atop the Coloradan continental divide
in December - and have yet to find a location or experience where your sleeping
bags cried for mercy before I did. So thank you, for making a product that
is both comfortable and life-saving.
Thanks so much for your help and again for your incredible products,
Wayco
Hi Jerry-
I used my Hunter Super Light (with Hood) for the first time in really chilly
weather this weekend here in Michigan. Our Scout troop had a scheduled tent
camping weekend at our Scout camp. We normally have temps into the 30’s
at night this time of year. Saturday night it got down to about 10 degrees.
My Hunter Super Light kept me warm throughout the night. Not a bit chilly.
I’ve used my bag in cool weather before, but usually open it up and
use it as a quilt. Ten degrees calls for in the bag, zipped up.
Thanks for keeping this old Scoutmaster warm!

Dear Sir
or Ma'am,
I am a member of the United States Air Force and recently went to survival
training in the winter. Where I learned to survive in quite cold weather
conditions. Crucial to my survival was a wiggy's bag. I was nestled in a
hole that I dug into a rather large snow drift and slept well, and was amazed
at how warm I was in the sleeping bag. I thought for sure I was going to
get very little sleep because of the extreme cold but slept very well in
your bag. I have never been so warm in a sleeping bag and decided I must
purchase one of my own. assistance.
Sincerely, Curtis Wiersma
Finally
got the chance to put a couple of your products to the test while hunting
this year. I've been sold on your bags for years but really haven't had the
chance to try out the fishnets or the jacket(sweater) under harsh conditions
until recently. I hike a mountain each morning in the dark during the hunts
to be where I want to be at first light. I used to have to take my shirt
off which was soaked with sweat and change into a dry one or I would be miserable
at the end of the hike. Your fishnets have put an end to this. The old saying
of "Keep it simple stupid"sure applies here. One can spend a fortune
on expensive outdoor clothing with flashy marketing or just use the fishnets.
I'm impressed with how you don't over heat as the day warms up as well. As
a result, one isn't constantly changing in and out of them during the day.
The only down side is at times you don't know what is worse.....being cold
or putting up with the ribbing from your hunting buddies!!!! Also, the jacket
was amazing as well. While it is a bit more bulky than I would prefer, it
was amazing in it's ability to keep any chill off with little weight. I also
felt when things became more active, I didn't overheat as is the case with
down products and others.
Thanks for providing the real deal.
Regards, Bob

Hello,
I bought a pair of your lamilite boots last Fall (2007) and have worn them
now for about a year. I am a firefighter and wear them as uniform/duty boots.
They are absolutely the best boots I have ever owned: waterproof, warm in
winter; I even wore them in the summer and they were comfortable. Made in
USA is important to me as well. Just wanted to thank you and let you know
!
Rgds, M. Reynolds
Jerry,
First of all, thank you very much for the fine products that you supply.
I have been an outdoorsman all my life and I have never let a little bit
of cold air get in the way of my enjoyment! Many years ago during a
ski trip in the Upper
Michigan area, I laid eyes on a a Wiggy's Bag coat at a local retailer in
Eagle River Wisconsin. They really didn't know much more than - "that's
the guy that makes
SF bags, coats for expeditions etc." I bought my coat
then and there. After many years of great service, ski trips, hunting,
ice fishing, hiking, all in zero or such temps, I am here to tell you
that I have never had a product that delivers on a promise like your coat.
Several years later, I
was camping and woke up one morning in a freezing fog. Though the actual
temp was 20/25 degrees, I was wet and cold. VERY cold. As soon as I
returned from that trip, I ordered your coldest rated bag. I have not been cold on a trip due to a poorly constructed or over rated bag again.
Just this past weekend,
I slept (comfortably) under the stars using my Wiggy's bag in a high
dew point temp condition. When I awoke, the bag was very wet in the
48 degree temps, but I was very comfortable and dry! By mid morning, my bag
was dry and I was on my merry way. I have used that bag without a shelter
under the stars in 0 degrees and been quite comfortable, sleeping on the Wiggy's
mat for additional insulation. I have even tucked my head inside the bag
in severe weather and not created a frost problem that would have rendered
a down bag worthless. Pretty amazing stuff. At some point, I plan on upgrading
to an F.T.R.S.S. system for even more cold range.
Once again, thank you
so much for your wonderful products.
Sincerely, Bill Sellers
Hello Jerry,
Just wanted to drop you a note concerning your Lamilite insulated Wellco boots.
I live in Casper, WY and spend a lot of time on remote communication sites
in the mountains. Necessarily, this involves high altitudes and deep snow.
My feet were constantly cold in this environment. In the fall of 2007, I purchased
the Lamilite insulated boots and gave them a try. I am still amazed!! For the
first time in my life my feet were perfectly comfortable through an entire
winter. I combined your boots with Smartwool socks for most of the coldest
parts of the winter.
Interestingly enough, I continued to wear the boots throughout the following
summer and discovered that my feet generally stayed drier and more comfortable
than normal.
I can only assume that the Lamilite transferred the moisture into the good
quality leather and created a drier environment for my perpetually damp feet.
I appreciate products that really work, regardless of cost. I consider these
boots to be one of the best values in footwear I have ever purchased. I have
also had similar experiences with my Wiggy's sleeping bag.
Thanks for the efforts to supply 'real world' performing products that make
the difference between miserable days and good ones.
Sincerely,
Mark Warner

Mr. Wigutow,
I was cleaning out the
shed and came across an old Wiggy’s Catalog dated
01/26/96. It brought back memories of trips taken long ago. I still have my
old Ultra Light and Ultima Thule, and might I say they are still going strong.
My Ultima Thule has served me well on many winter trips here in the southern
Appalachian mountains. It kept me warm on many mornings were it reached -5
and -10 below. It’s nice to know that Wiggy’s is still around while
all the other outdoor companies are struggling to stay alive. I really like
the fact that Wiggy’s bags are made in America. I have watched my 14
year old son grow up using your products. I do not think I could have said
that if I had purchased a bag from any other company. Thanks for your great
products.
Sincerely
John Hartley, Franklin NC.
Dear Wiggy's,
Not like you or I don't already know your products work. I purchased sleeping
bags (w/overbag too) for each member of my family.
I sent my 12-year old daughter to girls camp (9000' elevation with lows at 35
degrees) last week with your 0-degree bag. She just got back and reported that
while ALL the other girls froze, she was toasty warm! And all the girls were
told to bring the heaviest sleeping bags they had.
Thanks, Wiggy's! It was final justification to my wife for spending/investing
in Wiggy's quality and for what works.
Sincerely, Jason Griffith
Mr. Wigutow,
I have purchased the Ultima Thule, overbag, mittens, boots, and other stuff
that I cannot even remember presently. I’m going out most every weekend
to camp out in the mountains of Prince William Sound while hunting for black
bears. Your gear is an essential part of my planning--none of the other three
sleeping bags that I own are even considered when I’m hunting this far
away from civilization. They are fine for my kids to play with in the back
yard but only Wiggy’s bags go out into the field. Thank you again for
your fine products. My sleeping bag is in the washer right now just to make
certain that it is fresh for next weeks’ hunting foray. Last week my
bag became partially immersed in water while getting gear into the campsite.
After sleeping in it for three nights it was almost totally dry and at NO time
was I ever cold. This would never have happened while sleeping in a wet goose
down bag. Thank GOODNESS for my Wiggy’s bag. I’ll try to send you
a picture of our hunt should we prove successful. No matter the outcome I appreciate
your fine products.
