This Is The Mitten Used In All The Great Dog Sled Races As Well As The Majority Of Sales Higher Than 50° Latitude.
During the winter of the 1999 Yukon Quest Dog Mushing Race we tested a new mitten. The temperature encountered was -40 to -50 degrees. The mittens proved beyond all expectations to be the warmest mittens ever used in the Yukon Territory.
They are a two layer system. The exterior mitten shell is three ply Supplex. The lining is 24 ounce Lamilite. There is a size ounce Lamilite insert. On the back of the palm is a large square of pile (nose wipe).
I use these for all-purpose winter outings, wearing the liners with a pair of simple homemade mitt covers when I'm active from 32°F to ~0°. When my hands are not active but in that range, or when I am active in bitter cold below it, I'll use just the overmitts. When I am not active in bitter cold, I use the liners inside of the overmitts. I have ML hands for a male, and the L fit me well.

I'm a woman with fairly long fingers and these fit me very comfortably with size Medium. I'm using these for a dog sledding expedition in Greenland and I can tell that the build and quality exceeds that of all my other GL gear, which was high end but not as well designed as this. The integrated inner mitt and outer mitt work as a seamless system to defeat the cold and the wind. I'm so grateful for all my Wiggy's gear but especially the new acquisitions for me hands and feet. You will not regret this purchase because it is worth every cent.

I got a pair of these mittens; no ONE makes a warmer mitten than. At - 30 on a snow machine my hands were too warm. I’m very impressed by the way the mittens warmed my hands. I bought mine way too big because i didn’t realize how accurate the size is
I highly recommend these mittens for anyone who has problems keeping their hands warm
