The Wiggy's sleeping bag guarantee is for a lifetime of use. If a seam opens or the Lamilite insulation deteriorates (such as losing its loft or separating, clumping in one place or another), Wiggy’s will repair or replace your bag at no charge. However, we reserve the right to examine any returned sleeping bag and will make the decision whether the return is justified depending on the appearance of the bag, demonstrating whether it has been properly cared for or shows signs of abuse.
I was working with a Marine Corps major in 1989 till 1992 when he was reassigned. He personally used my bags as he was a mountaineer. When the gulf war was immanent he asked if I could make a bag that would fit a particular pocket of the ALICE backpack. That bag was the Desert bag. He ordered 200. A downsized version of the Nautilus: 80" long, 31" wide at the top & tapering to 27" at the foot. The war ended very quickly so they were never sent to the Middle East. instead, they were sent to 29 Palms, CA Marine base. They spent 30 days in the field. Imagine my surprise when I found out 200 young men all wearing the same clothing, eating the same food, involved in the same activity for a month. The lowest temperature they encountered was 28º or 29º F. All were very happy. A test of a product in the civilian world like that is impossible.
It's 75" long; not 80" as described. 75" is a bit short for my height (6') after upright feet take up some length. Still a solid bag.

I've had my Desert Bag for years now and figured it was time for a review. As you'd expect it's a great bag! It's kind of a hybrid of a mummy and a rectangular bag. It's basically a rectangle but tapering towards the foot box to save weight and bulk. It's narrower at the top than the regular/standard mummy by a little but roomier in the feet than you'd expect. There's not a hood but it does have a drawstring to cinch the shoulder/neck area and there's still a draft tube to keep out the cold.
The first thing I'll note is that the bag is WARM! Just like you'd expect from a Wiggy's bag. The next thing you'll notice is how light and compact it is; it packs down pretty small.
I'm a bigger guy so it's a little bit snug but still very comfy, and light enough to keep in a day back "just in case".
Great job, Jerry! This bag rocks. It's the perfect spring/fall bag for my part of Montana.

I received the Desert bag yesterday. Thanks for the great service.
I spent the night outside in my net survival hammock with my new bag zipped snugly around the outside like is my want (I was very pleased to find the bag had a draw string to make the bag more cocoon like. Maybe you should put that in the description). The temperature hovered around 59 degrees and I kept the draw string loose so as not to overheat. It turned misty and breezy around 1:30 a.m. and the dripping woke me. At one point the outside of the bag was totally covered with droplets but the inside stayed warm and dry and I never did get to close the bag tightly. Next week it's supposed to get 26 degrees here. I hope to test again then, maybe with a tarp-tent and longjohns.
