SLEEPING BAGS AND A WAKE BAGS

I am willing to bet that nobody ever heard of “a wake bags”; however hundreds of thousands for over 100 years have used them very successfully.

First a sleeping bag; it is a cocoon shaped insulated enclosure that one gets into when camping to go to sleep. The bag itself while being called a sleeping bag is an inanimate product so it in and of itself does not sleep. Its purpose is to keep the person that gets into it warm so the person can sleep. In order for this piece of equipment to do what is expected of it, it must contain an adequate amount of insulation for whatever the temperature range is that it is being used in. There are additional qualities that it should have which I will not spend time on since I have written about these qualities many times in previous articles.

Now for the “a wake bag”! an a wake bag looks just like a sleeping bag with respect to the shapes offered, but looks are very deceiving. For many years I have heard about “a wake bags” from people who have told me they are cold sleepers. I have and still do ask any person who tells me they are cold sleepers if the actually were able to go to sleep when they were cold; and the universal answer is always “NO”. All of these people therefore are using “a wake bags”.

All of the companies that claim to sell sleeping bags are in fact selling “a wake bags”. The proof is there in plain sight! Literally every person who has contacted me about wanting a new bag from Wiggy’s and told me they are cold sleepers, not that they slept, have named the bag they have that they want to replace extends to virtually every other brand sold. Now when I say “a wake bags” have been successful how can you deny that type of success when all of them have proven beyond question to not fit the category of sleeping bag. Looks can be or are very deceiving.

I have been thinking if so many companies make these “a wake bags” there must be or at one time there was a market for them. You see so many of the people who are now upgrading to the Wiggy’s bags were finally getting rid of their 30 year old “a wake bags”.

It warms my heart to be a part of this new world of sleeping bags, bags that actually allow you to sleep because you are warm in the Wiggy’s sleeping bag.

The question I now ask is which of the companies makes the best of the “a wake bags” on the market; is it north face, western mtneering, kelty, oh hell you name the company because they are all equal at making or having made for them the “a wake bag” and it is for all of the different temperatures that people can go out in. A remarkable accomplishment when you think about it. A variety of bags that are guaranteed to keep you awake regardless of the temperature.

This reminds me of goretex ‘GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU WET”!!!
