A WET BAG
Wiggy,
A few days ago, I was in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in MN with a soaking wet Backpacker bag from excessive dew. It wasn’t cold at night, but cool enough to zip up the bag. This was my first experience with a wet bag. Alas, a warm night of sleep with a wet bag!
The Backpacker is a great three season bag.
Thanks! Longtime customer-
Scott S/MN
Scott thank you for you sharing with us your experience.
I will keep publishing all experiences like Scott’s that I receive. The more you know about the qualities of the Wiggy’s bags the better.
Experiences like this will not/ cannot happen with a down filled “no sleep sleeping bag.”
Scott does not mention it but I am sure his bag was dry in the morning; it is a fact of life that the drying from his body heat is what caused the drying to take place. No hanging the bag in the sun to dry, but what do you do if there is no sun?
Over the past 38 years that I have been manufacturing sleeping bags I have learned more about them than I ever knew from my customers. The only thing I knew about them was that they were more efficient at keeping you warm to start with. There were things I have learned from my customers and one has to do with water.
The following information comes from owners of Wiggy’s bags.
Warmth when wet. Yes, I knew the Lamilite fiber does not absorb water but even though there was water trapped in the fiber I never thought that they, the fiber also trapped the body heat which acted to evaporate the water. This knowledge I acquired from reading so many emails from people saying they were wet and got in their Wiggy’s bag were warm, so they slept, and awaked dry and their bag was dry.
If you go to the testimonials and read the 15 or 20 pages of them, you will read the biggest compliment is how they had a wet sleeping bag that was a dry sleeping bag in the morning.
These people tell their friends and sometimes they tell me anyone who will listen about the attributes of Wiggy’s bags. I appreciate the word of mouth advertising.
Success in selling a product that you make that is better than others on the market is helped enormously by your customers and I know it has helped Wiggy’s.
I have just made an exceptional purchase of first quality, pure finish [no chemicals added to the fabric], made in America at a very favorable price that will allow me to keep manufacturing and selling at the current prices easily until Christmas. As we move towards the end of the year and you start your Christmas shopping you now know Wiggy’s bags prices will not be changing.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
