Bobby Gore and his father Bill opened the door for the longest running lie in the textile business ever. Why is it going on for over 50 years now is because it makes money? On a weekly basis I see another company whether it is a supplier as is the Celgard company a British company that makes the product you will read about or a manufacture like North Face who makes such a material of as I recently read Filson has their own waterproof breathable material that they are using in a jacket I am told sells for $400.00 or more. And because so many companies are offering such a product the unsuspecting general public probably the youth under 30 believe the lie. Say it over and over and it becomes true in the minds of even the sellers.

The polypropylene-based material is recyclable and completely perfluorocarbons (PFCs) free.

polypropylene has been around longer than me [60 years] in the textile business. It didn’t work way back then and nothing about it will allow it to work today. It does not have a high porosity when applied to fabric any more than a ptfe [gore] film.

ALL OF THESE COMPANIES THAT ARE NOW JUMPING ON THE W/P TRAIN LIE JUST LIKE GORE HAS FOR 52 YEARS.

Will sales of garments with these films and coating ever end in my opinion no, because if the general public realizes that the garments made with these materials do not work the prices will drop to make it more palatable to buy.

Keep in mind that I have for 50 years been stating that gore has lied and named as many companies as come out with the same b/s product and never once has any one of these companies taken me to task, and that tells you conclusively that their products do not work since they blatantly refuse to defend then selves.
