AWARDS FOR THE INCOMPETENT

The following article is reprinted from the on line magazine Sportstextiles.

Innovation Award honour for I-Thermic

A joint-project on which outdoor brand Odlo worked with apparel group MAS and French start-up Clim8 is among the initiatives honoured in the 2019 Innovation Awards programme run by consumer technology event CES, which next takes place in Las Vegas from January 8-11.

Odlo is a manufacturer of close knit base layer garments that trap and hold 100 percent of all body produced moisture as well as goretex does so you are guaranteed to get a chill if these base layers are worn when skiing or mountain climbing.

The project partners worked with Twinery, the innovation arm of MAS.

I have no knowledge of MAS except “no mas” a boxing term from a Sugar Leonard fight years ago. So I therefore have no knowledge of Twinery and what they innovate. Based upon what I have read in this article they do not innovate anything; so that qualifies them for an award.

Judges listed I-Thermic among the projects they wanted to honour in the wearable technologies category of the awards. I-Thermic is a knitted mid-layer garment that can give skiers and other wearers full control of their micro-climate.

Judges; who are these judges and what qualifies them to judge anything. They have no idea that I-Thermic is only a knitted fabric specified for use as a mid-layer garment. The judges are as incompetent as the awardee (s) since they obviously do not know or understand that there is absolutely no way of controlling the supposed “micro-climate” that exists between your skin surface and the exterior garment.

Clim8’s technology, which launched in 2017, consists of sensors embedded in the yarn. These enable a garment to measure skin temperature, ambient temperature, activity level and humidity. This data is transmitted to an accompanying smartphone application, which automatically adjusts the temperature via integrated heating elements.

I searched for clim8’s technology but found nothing. However what is described above is as meaningless as anything I have ever heard of in the textile garment business. It has absolutely no purpose but is deserving of an award.

Wearers are able to set a preferred temperature and the system ensures that this is maintained. The heating technology is patent-pending.

I hope they get the patent, in that manner the government will be collecting revenue.

Odlo chief executive, Timo Pape, has said: “I-Thermic allows users to stay active and remain comfortable during their winter activities, without having to remove or add layers of clothing. We are extremely proud to see this collaboration honoured at the 2019 CES Innovation Awards.”

Timo pape is a product of government schools so we know he has no capacity to think. The i-thermic garments will definitely cause you to want to wear more clothing because you will become cold do to the i-thermic fabric containing your moisture i.e. sweat so when you stop the activity you almost instantly get chilled. But it does deserve the honor for this accomplishment.

Seems to me that these people have little to do so they dream up awarding their friends for doing nothing of importance but they who give the awards think that what those receiving the awards have done something of importance.

The subject of their effort is to create something that will keep people warm and dissipate the moisture that the human body emits. The “technology” available for this to happen already exists, but they are too dumb to grasp exactly what that is. A hint too dissipates the moisture wear a fishnet base layer. To retain the heat that your body generates wear insulated garments made with Lamilite/Climashield and the problem will be solved. Remember that the moisture from your body if wearing fishnets as a base layer and Lamilite/Climashield insulated outerwear will cause the moisture to migrate through all of the layers so it condenses outside of the garment. The end result is a warm person.

Think about all of the different chemicals being somehow inserted into the fibers that materials are made from that are supposed to make you warm and odor free as well as having you’re in the clothing environment controlled by some magical method. Boggles the mind, but then again these people have boggled minds to begin with.

As an aside a friend said he is going to start taking graphene tablets to make his body steel strong.

This just appeared in the testimonials on the web site.

  1. It's All True!

These are incredible with Sunwalkers inside. Snowshoeing all day, stomping around the woods. My feet have never been cold, not even slightly! The loose fit takes some time to get used to, but just accept it. IT WORKS! I won't buy anything but these for the rest of my life. I have had the same pair for 10 years.
