COFFEE CONTAINERS IS THE NEWEST INSULATION
I saw that Mammut was showing a new insulated garment so, I went to their web site to learn more about this incredible insulation that incorporates a form of coffee I was/am still unfamiliar with; Nespresso capsules. Read on.
Mammut x Nespresso IN Flex Hooded Jacket Men
The extraordinary insulation jacket with synthetic fibers
Description
Stay warm in wet and cold conditions, without making your body work harder for it. Allow us to introduce our new synthetic fiber insulation jacket, developed in collaboration with Swiss companies HeiQ
[heiq is a chemical company that is quick to jump on anything that they can. In this case they want to get into the insulation business by offering a product that will fail as an insulation since they have no knowledge of insulation]. and Nespresso. Featuring the HeiQ XReflex radiant barrier technology powered by Xefco with aluminum made from recycled Nespresso capsules, this jacket retains 20% more heat.
We now know that the nespresso is the aluminum containers that the Xefco company is recycling to become aluminum sheeting on rolls.
Then heiq is doing something to the aluminum in collaboration with the xecfo company that yields xreflex. It is a patented radiant barrier technology.
“HeiQ XReflex is an innovative radiant barrier technology that reflects heat back to the body, maintaining the same level of warmth with as little as half the insulation material.”

I do not know who blue sign is so, how they figure into the equation is a mystery.
Mammut must be a desperate company to get involved with a product that is very old “radiant heat barrier” that has never worked since the early 1960’s when some company on Long Island, NY tried selling it to jacket an sleeping bag manufacturers.
Over the past 60 years others have tried promoting it without success justifiably because it doesn’t work.
The aluminum surface may reflect back some radiant heat of an insignificant amount but what it doesn’t do is stop convective and conductive heat loss.
They obviously do not know radiant heat is absorbed by the first object it hits, in a Wiggy sleeping bag that means the radiant heat from a human body is absorbed by the lining. Any conductive or convective heat movement is now trapped in the millions of filament fibers that is what Lamilite is made from.
As I see it heiq, xefco have sold mammut a bill of goods. Then you have mammut lying to their customers and potential customers about this bogus insulation.
WILL PEOPLE EVER EDUCATE THEMSELVES BEFORE TALK ABOUT MAKING AN INSULATION; NO
