comfoters and conspiracies

A CUSTOMER FOLLOW UP ON HIS COMFORTER

The following testimonial was published by the customer on my testimonial section on the web site in the comforter area.

“Follow Up on the Comforter

Having used this exceptional warm comforter for 2 wks. now, I must say that I no longer have night sweats because that old down comforter was not releasing any of my body heat out away from the comforter, like swimming in my own moisture, this Wiggy's comforter is and does wayyyyy better at everything that down doesn't do, no pocket stitching, where the feathers have clumped together because I was sweating, I find myself going to sleep faster & sleeping longer into the night, I’m going to order another comforter just the King size this time, also I'm going to purchase more items, from Wiggy's wide selection of things I can use at some point, I didn't know about Lamilite until I found out about Wiggy's, so Jerry be ready because I'm going to be shopping again & again, OK!”

– Felix V.

The primary reason that Felix was not sweating is because the comforter was not retaining his sweat. His sweat is migrating through the comforter while it is a vapor. The down causes the vapor to condense against his skin surface.

I sleep in a room that has a heat setting of 68 degrees all winter long and I use the same comforter as Felix has and I have never had sweat accumulation in as many years as I have been making the comforters.

As for his interest in purchasing more products, it is certainly OK with me.

OR SHOW

I just read today the new color for winter 2018 is purple. I remember years ago when I was a supplier of insulation to the skiwear manufacturers who did manufacture in the U.S.A. they had a new color each year and when I say “they” I mean all of the companies would offer that color. And I thought each company worked out their own designs and styles in the market place, boy was I wrong. Seems nothing has changed. If you were to go to the OR show and looked at all of the different companies that make similar products and you would find their products are not only the same but are most likely made in the same factories in China or Viet Nam.

I have begun to think that there is a conspiracy foisted by the all of the companies that show garments made with materials that are represented as waterproof and breathable (?).

I cannot believe that these companies that have been selling these garments are oblivious to the reality and of course there are always new companies that come along who also know that these materials don’t exist offering the same non-functioning garments. Even the companies that make the stuff know their product does not do what they tell garment makes it does. Now I ask if all are knowledgeable of the materials failure to work as it is advertised and the material has never worked as advertised for 40 plus years but they still offer it at all levels, isn’t that representative of a conspiracy?

CONSPIRACY: any concurrence in action; combination in bringing about a given result.

The result is they sell product that does not perform as expressed in the advertising of the product. I have said in the past that this offer of erroneous information in advertising is false advertising.

But, you will see these same garments offered in retail stores all of the time and be promoted by the store owners even though they too I am sure know that the materials used for these garments do not function as they are told by their suppliers of these garments.

In my opinion this attitude of offering products that do not function as advertised extends to the boot industry as well.

I wonder if someone, anyone from one of these companies will ever stand up to these companies that present these materials to the finished item sellers and say no more? Doubtful, everyone likes being on the gravy train that sticks it to the end item user; the consumer.

So if you happen to attend the OR show, remember to take careful note of what you see and then go to any retail store and look at what they currently sell and other than color tell me what the differences are? My opinion NONE!!!
