THEY MUST BE DELUSIONAL
Today I read an article on the snews web site titled “GORE-TEX brand campaign encourages people to find their state of ‘flow”
The sub title is “Don’t Think About GORE-TEX products’ campaign high lights that Gore fabrics let consumers focus on their passions, not their gear.”
The first paragraph of the article demonstrates “delusional thinking” in my opinion. I quote; “Building on the high level of trust (see what I mean about delusional) that consumers have in GORE-TEX products, W.L. Gore & Associates is launching a new GORE-TX brand campaign in 2017 that encourages people to follow their outdoor passions-and simply forget about their gear.” When people go into the outdoors wearing a Gore-Tex rain garment they can’t but think about it when they find out that either the rain if it is raining does get into the garment via deleterious water action or if it is not raining the moisture that they are producing via sweat does not get out.
They further state and I quote; “The GORE-TEX brand has the historical credentials (are they kidding, not in their minds) and ongoing technological innovation to allow consumers to completely trust (this shows me they are not in touch with reality) any product built with its products.” How is it possible that one can trust a finished product made with a component (Gore product) that does not work as they claim to begin with? This is a perfect example of, in this case a company’s employees repeating the same thing over and over again (for 40 years or so) that they have gotten to believe what they are saying.
The article further states and I quote; “Because you are using the most sophisticated functional and comfortable technology available, (see what I mean about them being delusional) you can focus your full attention on you passion.” Maybe they mean you can focus your attention on the faults of the products; i.e. their ability to retain water.
It is my understanding that Gore has seen their best days selling the non-sense to marketing companies since most of these companies have their own non-sense products that do exactly the same thing; hold water. So they are doing everything they can to try and convince people that they have a viable product. The reality is they can advertise all they want and companies are no longer buying into their story. Most of the companies they sold are now into garments that promote real movement of moisture because the materials used are not coated or laminated to any film.
In my opinion you cannot fool people forever and we can see that this company is just trying everything they can; in my opinion they are delusional.
As for not thinking about your gear, I want people to think about the gear they have purchased form Wiggy’s. I know they do because I receive so many testimonials complimenting the performance of my products. Thank you!
