Subject: Re: My Order
Wore the boots tonight. Need to break them in a bit as with any shoe. However, my feet stayed warm the entire time and that’s the first time my feet didn’t get cold! Love them! Best boots I’ve ever had! Very happy I bought them. Thank you for making such excellent high-quality products available. I’m very, very appreciative!

Christina wrote to me she has Reynaud’s disease. She has also ordered socks and Kodiak mittens which will make life even easier for her during the cold weather.
WATER RESISTANT AND VAPOR-PERMEABLE
I have said and written for years, actually since 1968 the continuous filament fiber if made properly and used in garments and sleeping bags properly is unquestionable the finest insulating material in the world and will be that way for at the least the next 100 years and I believe longer.
The products I have been making since 1986 have proven over all of the succeeding years that continuous filament fiber that I have trade named Lamilite is just that; the most efficient insulating material on the planet.
Now I have what I believe is the most efficient water resistant and vapor-permeable water material available and that is Ducksback. As I have written I have used a raincoat made from this material since 2011. I have been making jackets with it for the past 3 years. Over the 3 years that they have been out in the field my customers have confirmed that it works as stated. It is the most water resistant non-coated material there is. Because it is not coated it is also vapor-permeable. My Ducksback material does what every other material that is on the market today that is advertised as “waterproof and breathable” a concept that simply does not exist.
What I have also learned is that a thin layer of insulation MUST be lined in a Ducksback garment for the body produced moisture can go someplace when it leaves your body. If it does not have any place to go it condenses on your skin and you feel clammy. When it is raining the air, temperature drops so when the moisture is cooled by the lower air temperature you get a chill. If the garment is lined that moisture moves away and the layer of insulation keep you warm. Since I have been selling the zippered jacket, I have received numerous emails attesting to this fact. It is the many individuals who have had these positive experiences who wrote saying I should not end the use of Ducksback. This week I will be getting my latest shipment so I will not be out of material stock now or possibly ever.
Sales since the first of the year have been very robust with many people ordering the Urban Ducksback Antarctic parka. I do not believe there is a winter parka as good for performance, appearance, for the price. Actually, I do not think there is a parka at any price as good.
One of the attributes of the Ducksback material is the fact that it simply does not wrinkle, how that has been accomplished is beyond me, but then again there are lots of things beyond me.
The consumer has a choice to make when they look for rainwear, they can get waterproof rainwear, they can get rainwear that is offered by a great big lie that it will allow your body moisture out of the garment via a fictious breathing mechanism or they can get a rain garment that is correctly represented by the manufacturer; that is very water resistant and truly vapor-permeable, it does not breath.
People now know and understand that continuous filament fiber used for insulation purposes is singularly the best raw material in the world for sleeping bags, and sooner or later the masses will learn as many do now that a waterproof and breathable material simply does not exist.
In the footwear industry the product engineers know that goretex does not work but if they were to approach the higher ups in the organization they are employed at those higher up exec’s would tell him do as you are told and do not change things because of the advertising benefits we get from gore. So the engineers do not want to rock the boat or lose their jobs.
Life just goes on!
