“Cooler temperatures are predicted to span much of the eastern part of the United States throughout the month of August.

The first of several spells of below-average temperatures saw shorts exchanged for sweaters across the east of the country over the weekend, with lows of 60F in Chicago and Green Bay on Friday.

Those overnight lows are expected to persist in lands east of the Rockies for the next two weeks, with daytime highs ranging from the upper 70s to the low 80s, according to Weather.com.

The growing season here in western Colorado for tomatoes hasn’t been very good due to cooler temperatures. One small farmer I frequent has tomato plants that look like they should in mid-July. Is this a harbinger of weather to come? Maybe.

I am seeing an increase in orders for cold weather jackets so maybe others are expecting the same a colder winter. From what I have been told by customers who live in the New England area they have had a colder than normal summer. Since I have the store in Anchorage Marc has told me that they too have had a cooler than normal summer.

The new Urban Antarctic parka has seen what I consider a greater number of orders than I expected. Aside from the fact that it is incredibly warm, it is extremely light in weight and good looking. Plus you just can’t wrinkle the DUCKSBACK material that is the shell.

LEG CRAMPS

I have suffered with then for about 10 years. The other day I read an extensive article about magnesium supplements, so I bought a bottle of 1000mg at the local vitamin cottage.
