THE NEWEST LATEST AND GREATEST THING TO HAPPEN IN THE SLEEPING BAG BUSINESS
I use the “term sleeping bag business” loosely since I believe with reason that Wiggy’s is the only company in the world that actually makes sleeping bags.
Now for the article.
Big Agnes, announced the launch of its 3N1 Sleeping Bag series, an evolution in its signature sleep system. The series offers three sleeping bag configurations in one technical yet straightforward approach for versatility and temperature control.
[3N1 I suspect stands for three in one sleep system. The bigagness people are certainly aware of the fact that Wiggy’s has been making the FLEXIBLE TEMPERATURE SLEEP SYSTEM FOR YEARS, tow individual bags that integrate to make a third bag. what they probably do not know is that Wiggy’s started making the system in 1993, long before bigagness started making what they claim are sleeping bags. they are of course “no sleep sleeping bags” and the prove it when ever someone buys their product and finds they do not sleep in them because they are cold.]
“This is the only bag you need for three-season camping, backpacking and everything in between,” said Bill Gamber, co-founder and president, Big Agnes. “These ultra-lightweight, down-fill bags deliver comfort and versatility no matter your sleep style or temperature preference. If you camp in more than one season and more than one spot, you don’t need a quiver of bags; you need a 3N1.”
[the co-founder is referring to three seasons in Florida starting in April and going to September.]
[WHAT WILL THEY THINK OF NEXT, SKATE-BOARDS WITH WHEELS?]
A MATERIAL THAT “RAPIDLY” MOVES MOISTURE IN ONE DIRECTION AWAY FROM THE SKIN
NexTex Innovations, an Atlanta, GA-based textile technology company, is set to release its TurboDry Core Fabric collection consisting of eight materials selected from its TurboDry performance fabric range featuring its patented TurboDry technology that rapidly moves moisture in one direction away from the skin without relying on chemicals.
[I failed to find out what the material is, but it is not cotton or synthetic, so what is it? But we are told moisture can move through it rapidly in one direction away from skin. How can that be? Chad Lawrence must know but he is not telling us.]
“We’ve had brands large and small asking for help with fabric minimums, shorter lead times, and quick sampling,” said Chad Lawrence, NexTex Innovations, CEO. “We are happy to provide a solution with our Pillar Collection, which covers all the performance bases, including light-weight, mid-weight, heavier weight fabrics ranging from 100gsm to over 220gsm.”
[But what is the fiber?]
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DUCKS AND GEESE?
“Responsible to the Core,” Downlite developed its Down-Trac app for iPhones for retailers and customers to access its sustainable down supply chain.
Each lot of down and feather that it produces receives an identifier at each stage of the process, which is then combined into a final lot number when the material is ready per a brand’s requirements.
Retailers can integrate the system on their websites, where consumers enter the lot number into a search bar or scan a tagged Q.R. code to learn details about a product’s natural fill, from fill power to its origin.
The system is currently free, and all information is consolidated based on third-party traceability audits and testing.
[Aside from the fact that Lamilite/Climashield [LC] out-performs down with significant advantages. The first is the fact that LC is unaffected by water, is more efficient at retaining heat and does not require KILLING ducks and geese. LC is incredibly sustainable, Wiggy’s bags have been in the field as long as 34 years, as long as Wiggys has been in business. Wiggy’s Company does not generate any waste that goes to the land fill. All scraps are baled and used for bow targets.
Does downlite have the ability to trace their product back to the original source, the birds?
This is only a ploy to sway the youth of America to think they are doing something good.
A few years ago, downlite came out with waterproof down, where is it today, non-existent.]
Daily I read articles on the internet in textile magazines that espouse great things and the companies showing these products after one year are on to a new great thing.
AND NOW REAL EXPRESSION OF SUSTAINABILITY
Simply The Best!!!
I have been a faithful Wiggy's customer for going on 30 years. Back in the 90's I ordered an Ultralight and an Ultima Thule and was far beyond pleased with both of them. Still have the Ultralight but sold the Ultima Thule because of the spare tire I have acquired over the years. 3 weeks ago, I ordered another Ultima Thule in a regular/wide body and couldn't be happier with my purchase! Have you noticed the decline in sleeping bag manufacturers over the years? Have you noticed that Wiggy's is still around and still going strong? The reason is consistency and quality! Save yourself the trouble and disappointment of purchasing from another maker and buy a Wiggy's bag!!!
