I did not register the views yesterday but I think it was in the 200k category. This morning it was over 450k.

I did note yesterday’s comments were 1657 and this morning 1920.

Obviously both numbers will grow.

I like to think the exposure I have given the video has been a catalyst for the increased activity.

It is a testament to the effort Ryan put into explaining in layman’s terms the reality of goretex being as he says a gimmick.

I am sure retailers around the country will take note of his video. But will they act on this information to go back to their suppliers of all products the contain goretex components citing this factual information? Will the manufacturers who have been making products that contain goretex components go back to gore citing this factual information?

I believe it has been widely known throughout the outdoor industry that goretex does not work as advertised. The industry people learned this after their first season but stuck with it because of the advertising money.

I am sure the gore people as well as those other companies like event that market the b/s waterproof breathable non-sense have also become aware of this video.

Now what has to happen is a mass rejection of these garments at the retail level, who knows?

What I wonder is how gore is going to explain their inflated prices for their urethane coated material when you can buy the same materials for material cost plus $0.50 per yard for the addition of ½ ounce urethane coating. I can buy nylon taffeta with the urethane coating for $2.00 a yard or less. If it is done in Asia the cost is less which is where most of this is done today.

On the home page is the video I made 6 tears ago. I noted that it has 10,000 views, Ryan’s should do better sooner.

I like to think gore and all of the copycats have seen the best of their days and the general consumer will just wake up to the fact that they have been ripped off for 50 years.

Now will the military wake up?
