Hi Jerry,

I live up in Alaska and have been using your jackets, gloves, vests, and sleeping bags. Your products are the absolute best for comfort and thermal protection in our harsh winters. I was just thinking that thermal images of your coats vs competitors would likely be compelling because they would show heat loss. Flir makes cameras that are relatively inexpensive. This could be a case where a picture is worth a thousand words. I hope you are doing well.
Cheers
Tom

Tom,

Thank you for expressing your satisfaction with the products you have purchased from Wiggy’s. I happen to have a Flir heat seeking scope that I bought at Cabela’s several years ago. It does take pictures. Back then I was making outerwear and should have done as you suggest. Since I am out of the outerwear business it is not necessary. The overall testimonials I have received during the past 36 years say it all about the products made by Wiggy’s Inc. I am particularly glad your products are the absolute best for comfort and thermal protection in our harsh winters.

FRAUD

“Deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage”.

Last night I was thinking about what constitutes fraud so I went to the trusty online dictionary and this is what I found.

There are many companies working in the textile business who are in my opinion “deceitful” with respect to the performance properties of their products.

There are two products I will single out as being sold as gain fitting the description of being sold deceitfully and with trickery perpetrated for profit. This product I have been exposing for 50 years is advertised as being both “waterproof and breathable”.

The first product is sold under numerous names but the most prominent and recognizable name is goretex. When the gore company created their product, which is PTFE film that they said 9 million holes per square inch. They claimed the holes were too small for water droplets to fit through but vapor could; [this constituted breathable].

In order to use the PTFE film, it had to be attached to a fabric. The method by which the PTFE film was attached to the fabric was via lamination.

When you laminate; I have 60 years of experience laminating, you use an adhesive [glue] to hold the two materials together. Of the 9 million holes per square inch in the PTFE film how many were now clogged with adhesive? My educated guess probably 60 percent.

We cannot stop here with our description of the process of making the material useable. Since the rain garments made with the goretex [PTFE film] must be seam taped the seams, gore had to put a second layer of fabric over the exposed PTFE film. The fabric is a nylon tricot. How is it attached to the PTFE film, via lamination. So now we have even more adhesive covering the hole in the PTFE film. How many of the 9 million hole are still not clogged with adhesive? My guess maybe 20 percent?

I assume now the composite material will keep out rainwater but having extensive knowledge of the workings of the human body any sweat while in a vapor state reaching the inside of the garment will condense and since the vapor has turned to water droplets they cannot get out. The reason for the condensation is because the fabric is as cold as the rainwater hitting it, hence condensation.

Of course, rainwear is only the beginning, how about boots issued to the troops, who have complained for years of having wet cold feet. Wet because their foot sweat does not get out of the boots and cold because the 3-M thinsulate the material used as insulation in the boots does not insulate.

Consider the number of hunters and outdoorsman that have purchased these boots for 40 years who have experienced cold wet feet wearing boots made with goretex and thinsulate.

My opinion is that there must be a watch dog agency that goes after companies that perpetrate fraud. Afterall it is our tax dollars that are paying for these products that have never worked and now we should get the hundreds of millions we paid for a product that has never performed as was claimed in the first place; get our money back. I do not believe for one minute that Bobby gore and his father did not know their product never worked. They knew it but smiled all the way to the bank.

The following I copied from the gore web site so all can digest the big lie or fraudulent statement; gore has made the impossible, possible [IN THEIR HEAD]

"GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY

All GORE-TEX gear is durably waterproof, totally windproof and reliably breathable, so you can get your fix 24/7, 365."

AEROGEL

I keep reading that it IS the most advance insulation to date.

How can this be if it has yet to prove itself in harsh arctic conditions. It was originally used in small sections of jackets but after a couple of years they had to make a deal with primaloft to incorporate the aerogel into the primaloft fiber so it was now a part of yard goods so it would be all over the inner lining of the garment.

This company has made inference that the aerogel has been used in various ways by NASA, big deal. Has it been used by companies that have made for them garment in Asia that are winter outerwear garments for a number of years to establish a history; NO!

They say so many wonderful things that cannot be supported by reality.

They are diligently working at circumventing reality with the wildest of claims yet of how their very fine aerogel material can act as an insulation because it is 99.8 percent the weight of air. They do not take into account that the air within the space the aerogel is in has to be broken into smaller spaces so the air does not move, versus how easily it moves within the aerogel space, breaking up air into small spaces as Lamilite does is the essence of insulation.

They do not understand the complexity of what it takes for an insulating medium to work.

When one has no real knowledge, one has to use

FRAUD

“Deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage”.

To find their way to make sale of their product. they have to cover up what they do not know with fancy terms and long term projections as to what will be.

This company should also be checked into by a watch dog arm of the federal government and not let it get started so we taxpayers are on the hook for millions from another bogus company.
