TESTIMONIAL OF WIGGY’S PRODUCTS
JERRY WROTE TODAY:
"...I have yet to discover what the 37.5 “naturally derived particles” are...” [ possibly what
I flush on a regular basis.] Bracketed comment is Dave’s not mine)
About 1950 I discovered fishnet tops in Petersons Hardware in Des Moines Iowa. Actually came from Norway.
In the 1980's I discovered your fishnets. Kept me warm for years.Learned about wet feet and cold feet
When we moved to Iowa.Learned quickly mink oil regularly applied on the outside kept the inside of the boot dry.
Around 1989-90 I was shopping for sleeping bags. Here in Kansas City we were fortunate to have a BACKWOODS retail store.
Through these fine people I learned about vapor permeability etc., and purchased my first BLUE bag, zero degree. (ACTUALLY THE BLUE BAG IS THE COLOR CODE FOR THE ULTRA LIGHT +20 DEGREE BAG)
Lots of winter camping, a thru hike of the Colorado Trail, more camping. Bags were laundered regularly, dried and stored compressed.
Bag never failed to return to loft, never had uneven spots always acted like brand new. My bags, ground pads, booties, gloves
Have moved on with a local scout troop. Equipment that is serviceable for 25 years is astounding.I expect the scouts will get
Another 25 years.Kind of a double investment in the future, eh.
So I've got 2 grandsons in the NE NAtl. guard; another grandson is active MARINE and me; going to order Chukkas for me and Lamilite
Socks for them. So, old friend thanks for the unbeatable quality of products you produce because you are an honest man.
Be Well
Dave
I have always been conservative in rating my bags as well as stating they have temperature ratings when used in a tent on a ground pad. So hearing that he thinks the bag is rated to zero I guess is because he has used it at that temperature on occasion. Thank you for the testimonial Dave.
DO YOU KNOW WHO YOUR FRIENDS ARE?
The following definitions come from the dictionary.
A person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.
A person who gives assistance; patron; supporter:
I do not believe that the consumers of outdoor products have many friends in the outdoor industry. I do not think of myself as a part of the outdoor industry since I do not exhibit at any of the trade shows they offer, nor do I sell to retail stores that promote their products for people to use in the outdoors. Even though I manufacture products that are used by people who go into the outdoors I am not a part of the outdoor industry.
I do not believe that the people who own or work for most of the companies that constitute the outdoor industry demonstrate their friendship towards their customers. I do not believe they have a personal regard for them, nor do I believe they offer true assistance or support for these consumers.
If they did they would not present a host of products that are detrimental to their customers.
The worst of the lot in my opinion are footwear manufactures. Having developed foot problems in the past 3 or 4 years has caused me to do research to find out what I can do for myself and it is very little. I have worn good high quality shoes all of my life so the foot problems I am experiencing in my 70’s is not unusual. Today if I were say 15 years old and I were wearing the quality of shoes that are sold all over the country I fully expect that the foot problems I have will come about in my 40’s. Why so much earlier, easy because the footwear sold today is made without very much support.
If you were to examine the Lamilite boots you will find they have a stiff supportive sole and leather upper so you have a great deal of support. But if you look at almost all of the footwear available you will find they are made with a molded synthetic sole and soft nylon upper. These footwear items have zero structural support. The result will be a weakening of your arch, a faster reduction in the thickness of the fat that separates the lower layer of the skin and the bones of your feet. This puts further strain on the ligaments and muscles of the feet. Having plantar fasciitis developing earlier in life will be a major problem, just ask a 70 year old about it.
As has been seen in several u tube videos the addition of materials such as gore-tex retain so much of your foots moisture in just 2 or 3 days of hiking the skin on the bottom of your feet will separate causing blistering. In time this will weaken and in old age say 45 years you will see foot discomfort.
I strongly suspect there are many younger people than I am who have already started experiencing these foot problems, all because it is cheaper to make these molded shoes out of country versus the quality I grew up with; made in America footwear.
Does the shoe industry sound like they are your friend or enemy!!! It is all about the money!!
I have written about and pointed out the many materials that have been presented to garment companies that have the most incredibly outlandish capabilities ever devised by man for use to keep you comfortable and fit that do not.
Are these people your friends or enemies? It is all about the money!!
I can only guide you to ask for verifiable proof of a products ability to work, and it is up to you to do it for yourself. Just learn who your friends are.
