Great Product!
I used the pad on a cot with Hunter Ultima Thule. I used the straps to hold the pad at one end of the cot. Pad stayed in place and no issues with sub-freezing temps. Hunting buddy was on foam pads and an old school cotton sleeping bag. He had moisture under his bag. No moisture issues with the Wiggys gear. The pad is bulky but worth the good nights sleeps. Will use in my hammock next.

This is one of the first comments I have received in a long time about one of my ground pads. I personally have used my original pad in this manner when I was hunting in the Fossil Ridge Wilderness in a base camp located at 12000 feet. That would be the 3 rd rifle season in November. Nighttime temperatures were never above 0° F and generally between -10 and -30° F. I was very pleased to receive this letter.
Today I read that there is a very cold air mass moving from Alaska south, which is normal, but the temperatures are expected to be as much as 20 to 30 degrees below normal. Depending upon how long it will last will prove that the Farmers Almanacs were correct about a very cold winter this year.
If we get snowfall early and it falls into the southern part of the country the cold will last longer because the sunlight will reflect back into space without having a chance to warm the earth since it is covered in white. The dark exposed earth absorbs the sun’s rays which in turn warms the air. Be prepared for a cold winter I believe.
While writing this the following letter came to me. For those of you who have been customers and spoken with me you know that I believe beyond question that I make the “warmest products of their type in the world” and I am matter of fact about that statement. However, there are times that I offer guidance for use what I think “will” work but do not necessarily know how well. The following testimonial represents one of those times and to say I take pride in knowing what I make has helped in this situation is an understatement. It makes more than my day.
Jerry,
A couple weeks ago I called you on a Saturday and we talked about my son who lost his toes on one foot in an industrial accident.
I told you that since the accident, his foot was always cold at 50 degree weather, and unbearable at anything less. It was so bad that when he came to Montana to hunt he could only last less than an hour because his foot would be freezing. He didn't want to come anymore because of his foot.
You told me that a pair of your Lamilite socks and a pair of your boots would keep his feet warm no matter what.
Since I've used your sleeping bags for years I knew of the quality of your products so I ordered two pairs.
Last week we went to Montana to work cattle for a couple of days in 20 and 30 degree weather, and hunted elk for the rest of the week and to our amazement his feet never got cold once!
Jerry, you changed his "life." I don't have words to Thank You enough for you and your products so this will have to do.
Thanks,
Russ Sauter
I have written in the past about people who are diabetic or have a neuropathy problem and in all cases they have warm feet wearing Lamilite/Climashield footwear made by Wiggy’s. In the case of Russ’s son he has suffered massive damage to the foot where veins and capillaries have been damaged so blood flow getting to the end of the extremity is doubtful, will he heal at all overtime possibly, but the problem will never go away completely. Of course the problem is amplified if the moisture from the foot is retained in the boot. One more reason why the boot companies have to wake up and smell the roses, and that also holds true for the retail outlets that sell them.
For those interested in buying Wiggy's Lamilite boots please go to a men's shoe store to get your feet measured so when you order, you will order the correct size—which eliminates having to exchange for a different size most of the time. Thank you.
