I never thought I would be doing this. Read on.
"Special boots on sale for $1.40 per pair
03/10/2023
Footwear brand Wolverine is celebrating 140 years of its involvement in the work boot industry by giving 140 people the opportunity to buy special anniversary pairs of its 1000 Mile Boot for $1.40.
Customers have a chance to apply online from September 29 until October 16 to buy a pair. Those who are unsuccessful will still have a chance to buy the boots, but for the real retail price of $415.
Wolverine’s 1000 Mile boots are handcrafted in the US. Each pair comes with a custom boot bag and a special 140th Anniversary hangtag.
“We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the past, present, and future of our brand,” said president of the group’s work footwear division, Tom Kennedy."
As you can see Wolverine is celebrating 140 years and as such is having this promotion. I looked up the 1000 Mile Boot to learn about it and to a very pleasant surprise this boot does not have either goretex or thinsulate in it. Aside from the fact it does not have Lamilite in it they look like the boots I sold.
That said I have to recommend them based upon what I have read about them on the Wolverine web site. They are a handsome boot. You might want to set out on a 1000 mile journey but then again, someone might.
The only things that will improve the performance of these boots are Lamilite socks inside the boot all the time and when the need arises the Lamilite over boots when the temperature pushes as low as -30 F or the muk luks when the temperature pushes to -60 F.
It warmed my heart to learn that Wolverine is actually making a boot in the USA. I do hope they are not making nor intend to make this model modified with the likes of that trash goretex and thinsulate.
They are pricy but well worth the price.
Now let us see if they extend this to the future of their brands.
