WIGGY’S FOR SURVIVAL IF NEEDEDAND OTHER USES
Jerry,
I would like to thank you for your fast delivery of the custom sized sleeping bag. Antarctic bags double wide, boat foot, mummy bag with the FTRSS over bag. It's PERFECT, Thank you and all your workers for making such a beautiful product. I was explaining to you I have Ultima Thule with the FTRSS over bag and since retiring I've put weight on and the bag was getting tight to get in and out of at night. You suggested Wiggy's make me a custom sleeping system. We live in Upstate New York (Rochester area) and we frequently drive to the Buffalo/Erie New York area where our oldest son lives with our grandchildren using the main New York Thruway. (I-90) That highway is a dangerous mess on good summer days with road repairs and lead footed drivers. But a nightmare in the winter!
Our other son and family live up near Fort Drum, N.Y. way up in Northern N.Y.And we drive a lot of two lane roads to get up to them, so we carry a lot of extras in the truck in case we slide or get forced off the road or God forgive us if we have an accident. We carry Wiggy’s sleeping bags, gloves, hats and under-wear (fish net) with the new 2nd layer tops. My wife has always been cold when we first go to sleep or ride up to see the grandchildren, but I just purchased the Wiggy’s King Quilt and the TV blanket Quilt for the couch and our rides in the truck to see the grandchildren. We have spent many a cold night in your sleeping bags and never have been cold. My wife asked me what took me so long to buy our bed a King bed Quilt and TV blanket Quilt. I haven't seen her without that TV blanket since we bought it. If I took it away from her I think it would grounds for a divorce. We tell all our friends and people we meet on vacation about your great products.
Thanks you for making a great product and in the USA at that! The prices also very competitive!-- Thanks again,Paul Kuehnert.
The Perfect Winter coat for me
Jerry,
My Ducksback zippered Jacket came today.
This may well be the perfect winter jacket for me here in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma winters can be vicious or mild. Depends on which way the wind blows.
South from the Gulf and things are pleasant.
West and it depends SW is ok NW look out.
North and it can be super wet cold.
Locally we say nothing but fence posts between us and the Artic.
I thought long and hard between the jacket and urban parka. I made my decision
based on other Wiggy’s clothing I have. Years ago, I got one of you sweater
jackets (before the Ducksback version came out) and it is by far the warmest
jacket ever. Except for a few days it is actually too hot.
I also have your liner jacket, liner vest and fishnet top and bottom. Last
summer I came by your shop and got the boots and socks.
I also have one of your pull overs and it super light and warm.
I have your sleeping bags and now think I have the entire mix of outer wear
that I need for anything that comes at me for Oklahoma Winter time.
Your gear is the best and the fact that you live and make your gear in Grand
Junction CO USA is even more reason to buy from you direct.

Wiggy
I just thought I would pass along another use I found for your Ground pads. Today I went ice fishing right in your back yard. I went to blue Mesa reservoir as you are aware the weather has not been excessively cold but I wanted to take my dog along. While the dog is from Alaska it's very small 20 lbs. or less. My concern was the dog’s feet on the ice for an extended period of time. I took my Wiggy’s ground pad and folded it in half. The pad worked perfect. When the dog began licking her feet and sitting with her feet turned up off the ice. I put her on the pad and in no time she was asleep on the pad on top of the ice. My feet stayed completely comfortable in a pair of Wiggy’s socks and Wiggy’s boots. The ice was wet inside the shelter and my feet didn't even notice it. I have been ice fishing on and off for 30 years and have NEVER been able to have warm feet in leather boots before. I've always had to use bunny boots or some type of rubber vapor barrier boot to keep my feet warm during long periods of sitting on the ice. Even then I've had to get up and walk around periodically to keep my feet warm. The dog lying on the pad on the ice asleep for 5 hours is absolutely amazing. Lamilite is the best insulation I have ever used in the outdoors, in both Alaska and Colorado. Thank you for many AWSOME products!! Ralph Ramey
ADVERTISING
Advertising agencies do not apply to Wiggy’s. In my youth in the world of business I did some work with an uncle who had an advertising agency. He was asked to create advertising campaigns to promote products which are what they get paid to do. Wiggy’s does not need to hire any agencies. The people who work at these agencies may very well use products such as I make or even own some of my products but would they write ads that contain the same information about personal experiences using my products of the equal that I receive? Doubtful at best but otherwise no in my opinion!
When I receive letters such as the three that I have published today I know that I do not need an advertising agency to promote the products I make.
When it comes to the technical aspects of the components I use in the manufacture of my products no one knows the characteristics associated with these components as intimately as I do. I do not have any need to embellish how they work, I just explain what I know about them and how it is best to use them. Therefore, I see no need to explain what I know to an employee of an advertising agency who will now reinterpret what has been told to them. A lot will get lost in the translation. I have learned over the years that my customers understand my explanation of the various materials and construct methods associated with the manufacture of my products.
When I read what is published about the various products that are used by other companies serving the outdoor market place I believe the writers of the information published have no knowledge of the actual capabilities of those materials, generally they do not as presented to the agency anyway. It does not matter because the agencies are told what the company wants to say and they creatively write copy to satisfy the customer, even when the copy writer does not know at these companies what they are told to writing about.
The reason the copy writer does not know is simply because the person relating the information to the copy writer is equally without knowledge of the subject; materials used to make the garment or sleeping bags. But then the agency is paid to come up with appealing copy and has no skin in the game with respect to the ability of the products ability to work.
This has been the case I believe with waterproof/breathable materials specifically since their inception in the market place as well as insulations. When it comes to these two components the sky’s the limit come to creative writing.
This past week I read an e mail I received from Patagonia (I receive them daily from the their online catalog) that had the most erroneous literature about a chopped staple fiberfill that they have been supposedly working on for 7 years. They show pictures of it as well as a “special quilt” pattern. The reality is the fiberfill is not bonded in any manner that I could detect so the quilting is absolutely necessary to hold the fiber in place whether the garment is washed or not, but definitely necessary if washed.
As for working on an insulation for 7 years, nonsense, chopped stale has been around for 70 years and has always been used the same way regardless if it is bonded or not. So what are they offering that is new, an attractive quilt pattern? Maybe!
I do get e mails from companies wanting to help me promote my products since the internet makes their ability to contact companies in general far easier thanit was years ago when they would have to put presentations in an envelope and mail it to you. I never respond but think how nice they found me and maybe one of these people will become a customer at some point.
For me the customers write the best information I could ever have to promote my products, so thank you Paul, Dave, and Ralph as well as all who have preceded you with their accounts of using Wiggy’s products.
One last item, sales of boots have been significant and I have reordered 3 times and the third reorder will be delivered the last week of February. So if you have an order for either the 10 inch boot or chukka boot it will be shipped at the end of the month of February. thank you for your order and patience.
