Byborre raises €3.2m for sustainable textile development
03/06/2020
Amsterdam-based textile innovation brand Byborre has raised €3.2 million in series A round funding. The money will be used to accelerate the company’s on-demand textile platform and expand its global on-demand production network.
Byborre company is what I would call a sportswear marketing company. I have no idea what the hell they are talking about “on-demand textile platform” and I do not believe they do either. 3.2 million pounds is a lot of money and I think this is a pyramid scheme.
The funding was led by Shift Invest and existing investor Amsterdam Climate & Energy Fund, along with existing angel investors.
These investors must have money to burn or little knowledge of the textile industry so they do not know when they are being duped.
Byborre, which positions itself as a service, produces on-demand using existing capacity of its production partners. Describing the textile industry as having inefficient production processes, high energy demand and unnecessary transports of goods and people, Byborre said it is inviting other brands to work with the platform to find new ways to create sustainable textiles.
Byborre suggests to me that they go to factories that have production time available and Byborre has them make stuff for them. Now for the insult; “describing the textile industry as having inefficient processes, high energy demand and unnecessary transports of goods and people” is simply ludicrous. Maybe these idiots should read the story of cotton by Mark Kurland. It includes the development of machinery used to create cotton material and was the birthplace for the production of fabric. The textile industry has since the inception of machinery used to make cotton fabric been at the forefront, I believe in the development of so many components used by and for the textile industry that it is greater than probably any other industry. These Byborre owners are silver tongue devils.
“We are in contact with textiles almost every minute of the day from the moment we are born, and therefore it's fascinating that this very traditional industry has not been disrupted and revolutionised for the last decades,” said Borre Akkersdijk, co-founder and creative director at Byborre.
Yes we have been wearing textile products since birth, but these idiots seem not to be aware of the simple fact that textile companies have developed materials in recent times starting in the 1960’s I believe to make products that replace the cotton that was first used by my mother to diaper me. I suspect that these idiots are not so old as to have been put in cotton diapers but rather the synthetic diapers that are still used and have been improved since the 1960’s.
Borre shows how fascinatingly stupid he is. I quote;” this very traditional industry has not been disrupted and revolutionised for the last decades”. I for one would like an explanation of what he means by “disrupted”? I am sure if you asked him, he would not have an intelligent logical answer. I am equally sure that the investors thought the verbiage was powerful; idiots!
As for the industry not “revolutionised” for the last decades shows a considerable lack of intelligence. I do not know how long his company has existed, but I have to assume he has gone to some textile shows in Europe. At those textile shows new machines are on display. I believe the problem is his seeing eye dog just walks past them.
Arnoud Haverlag, CEO and co-founder at Byborre said Amsterdam is the “go-to-place for textile innovations, since the region has a strong reputation when it comes to creativity, digital talent, innovation and sustainability”.
I think it is great that Arnoud so easily contradicts his partner Borre who is so stupid as to not know he is being contradicted. Not even the investors acknowledge that one partner is contradicting the other.
Thus far we have been told that the textile industry has yet to be revolutionised and now we are being told that their hometown of Amsterdam is the go-to place for textile innovation. Do you see the contradiction?
Guys which is it? ZERO!
I am insulted by these people because I took existing materials and revolutionized how they should be used and created the most efficient sleeping bags in the world. In order to accomplish this I had to build a laminating machine that would economically combine these materials, prior to me none existed.
Every other engineer who works in the textile industry should be equally insulted by these idiots. The investors will lose their money!
