INVESTIGATION BY THE GSA

Earlier this summer I called and then e mailed the information pertaining to the improper temperature ratings being applied to sleeping bags manufactured by the snug pack company. This week I sent an email to Kate requesting follow up information as to how it was going. Below is the reply I received.

I guess she decided that she had enough of me sending her information about the truth of snugpak bags, so she probably told her computer to reject my emails.

Contact the recipient by some other means (by phone, for example) and ask them to tell their email admin that it appears that their email system is refusing connections from your email server. Give them the error details shown below. It's likely that the recipient's email admin is the only one who can fix this problem.

I have no intention of calling her. I believe the writing is on the wall, the gsa will not do a damn thing about stopping from buying products from a company that blatantly lies about the capability of their products to perform at. If you go to gsa advantage you will find about 50 companies that offer these so-called sleeping bags; as I call them the “no sleep sleeping bag’s”!!!

If you happen to be reading this and are in the military you may very well be issued one of these trash bags and will find out in short order that they do not keep you warm but that does not matter because they are very light and compactible, not a good trade off.

For us civilians who work and pay taxes this is one product that we are paying for that is NOT made in the USA but either China or England and we are NOT getting any value for our dollars. Maybe someone should inform our president who so fervently campaigns for more production in the USA of this rip off.

I have also gone to the Consumer Protection Agency with all the same information since these products are also available to civilians and not heard one word from them. Civilian consumers are made of flesh and blood the same as soldiers so if they aren’t warm why would civilians be warm, they won’t be either.

Civil servants do have their ways of subverting doing things when they do not want to do them.

The reality is; if you are mostly special forces you may very well be issued bags from China with all the chemicals associated with the numerous chemicals that are used on the fabrics in their dyeing and finishing processes. Aside from having bags that will not perform you in the field you will subjected to the nasty chemicals.

It is as I have said in the past that the gsa contract holders lie to the military buyers about the performance capabilities of this brand of so called sleeping bags even though they pack down to the size of a soft ball and are supposed to perform at zero degrees. If the temperature is zero degree’s you will be sadly disappointed when you find out very quickly as many before you have learned, you do not sleep because you are cold. People who think of themselves as cold sleepers do admit that they do not sleep when they are cold. So much for cold sleepers.

So much for trying to get civil servants to do their job and consequently the right thing for us citizens.
