THEY KEEP ON SINGING THE SAME TUNE
Northwest River Supplies (NRS), a manufacturer of paddlesports equipment and apparel, introduces dry wear developed in partnership with Gore-Tex and built with Gore-Tex Pro materials.
[As read in SGB online publication.]
Please note that the is article based upon the manufacture’s literature states the apparel is dry wear and is made with goretex pro. I went to the gore website to find out about goretex pro. Believe it or not gore states in large letters the goretex pro is guess what? “DURABLY WATERPROOF AND EXTREMELY BREATHEABLE.”
That being the case what does NRS know about the material made with the goretex pro material make it “dry wear?” when they at NRS say “dry wear” I assume they mean you stay dry when you wear their jackets while paddling and of course the splashing of water does not get in the garment. However, anyone who has paddled knows you work up a sweat very quickly and how does it allow all of that swear get out of the garment? It doesn’t. So, you end up wet and clammy as you have experienced with any of the other paddling jackets you have ever used.
I have no knowledge of how long this NRS company has been in existence but I do know that they have been around knowing about gore and the question I have is why they have now gotten involved with gore? What incentive program has gore offered them; lots of money, advertising, materials; what?
I can only imagine gore has an exceptionally large capacity to produce their Teflon film product, they have a large capacity to laminate. All developed in their hay day years ago. But today their customer base has diminished I like to think because so much of the outdoor marketplace consumers know goretex as well as all the other brands are bogus so they stopped buying the stuff.
ENOUGH SAID!
