keeping feet and hands warm

Posted by

After buying many top of the line sleeping bags over the years and doing lots of research Wiggy out performs them all! The durability, craftsmanship, quality, warmth and ability to wash it make it worth every penny. The staff has a quality product that leaves the shop and it doesn't go unnoticed, AWESOME job! The customer service was amazing and very helpful. I have bought 6 bags already and will be buying any future bags from Wiggy as well, you just can't beat it.

BOOTS FOR NEXT WINTER

I am sure a large number of people who have been in the heart of the winter this year have unfortunately had the ongoing experience of suffering with cold feet. Over the past years so many have purchased boots that contain the ever present used by one and all boot manufactures a membrane described as waterproof and breathable with an insulating medium made from polypropylene. What they the owners of the boots have learned over the years is a simple fact of life they have cold feet when wearing these boots and the heavy wool socks have not only not made a positive difference but a negative one in helping the boots not keep your feet warm.

In some instances some people have purchased Lamilite socks which have helped significantly.

As I have written the Lamilite socks and Lamilite boots do keep feet warm as low as about 0 degrees and to go lower the over boots are necessary and the low temperature if you are dressed for it is about -30 degrees. Lamilite has this wonderful ability to trap heat which is the driving force to push the moisture out of the boots. This is because the Lamilite boots are not made with any film that is classified as waterproof and breathable.

So far this winter sales of the Lamilite boots have been so strong that I have had to reorder from the factory 3 times. I attribute this to several factors; 1- the boots are made very well, 2- the fit of the boots is better than any I have had previously, 3- they are a good looking boot (those are the words of many buyers, thank you), 4- they have performed in the field which is helped by the Lamilite socks that come with them.

For those of you who are need of new boots for next winter remember if you go into virtually any retail store that sells winter boots they will have in them the same two components that have been installed in boots for probably 35 years that have been very successful at providing people with cold feet. They just do not do as all of the hyped advertising has claimed and still does. The managers of these companies can’t be that stupid to not know they are delivering to retailers a product that just does not work, but maybe they are!

You could order boots from Wiggy’s from now and until June 30, 2018 and as an incentive since delivery may not be started until early May the discount for the over boots will go from a 20 percent discount to a 30 percent discount. In order for this discount to be applied you will have to call us to place your order.

I do not think people who venture into the outdoors should ever forget their time out in the bush is more determined by how comfortable their feet are! I have heard many times from customers that their body and legs were warm but their feet not so, so staying out was grueling exercise and was the major cause of returning to either their vehicle or home.

The reason people go into the bush is because they want to and they want to enjoy that time. In all of the years that I have hunted I was always soaking up the view of the mountains and on occasion watching big horn sheep butt heads while I was hunting elk. Had I been cold feet or body all of the enjoyment of the outdoor experience would not have been.

The same holds true if you have cold hands, no hand wear company makes mittens that are as good at keeping hands warm as Lamilite mittens. This year we could not keep them in stock I am happy to say. Not one glove manufacturer on the planet makes a glove that has any value below 32 degrees. If you want warm hands Lamilite mittens are what you want.
