In 1968 I learned to sail from the Off Shore Sailing School located on City Island, N.Y.
With this new knowledge I went out and bought a sail boat; 28 foot Dutch built sloop that had a steel hull.
Now that I was a boat owner I really learned how to sail. One thing that all sailors have in common is the knowledge that regardless of the weather; sunny and calm or blustery you will get wet. I sailed Long Island Sound to Nantucket to the north and Montauk Point to the south and every place in between until the summer of 1974, July 16th to be exact when I set sail for the Bahamas. I returned to the states in September 1975. Being a live aboard is quite a wonderful experience. From the experience of being a boat owner and sailing during the warm weather to early cold was very enlightening. The clothing that I recommend that I produce today will do one important thing for any who wear it; KEEP THEM WARM regardless how wet they get. The reason is simple Lamilite insulation has demonstrated time and time again that it does not lose its ability to function as insulation even if it gets wet. Also, the fishnet long underwear will also serve well to keep water that is cold away from your body and any perspiration that cannot get away from your skin surface war, an action similar to wearing a wet suit.
I do not care who makes the foul weather clothing that is available it will not keep the water out of the garment. Therefore, it is in my opinion necessary to wear under the foul weather clothing an insulated layer that will not be affected by the water. The water is colder than your skin surface temperature so you are susceptible to getting a chill. Since the Lamilite insulation is surrounding your body even though it is wet you will not get a chill. Here, I am speaking from a considerable amount of experience from my sailing days to being in the mountains skiing and hunting for 40 years. I confidently state that my products listed below will easily out perform in these circumstances all other similar products presently manufactured (probably in china), where as my products are made in the USA.
All of these products are shown on the web site under a new clothing category titled "Marine Wear."
