A TOUCHING TESTIMONIAL

THANK YOU

Hello Wiggy-

Winter is drawing down and thanks to you I never missed even one day of rucking!

Rain, snow, sleet, I was warm and dry every step of the way.

My husband gave me a pair of your super mittens and a bright blue cagoule for Christmas.

I wear the mittens from 50 degrees down to 0 and am perfectly comfortable. Never sweaty, ever. Always dry.

And the cagoule, wow! I wear it over my weighted backpack and fur cap with a visor. I forget I am wearing it. So light, and SILENT (no rubbing sound on my headphones-fabulous!).

Thank you for all you do.

Sincerely,

Michele from Alexandria VA

The bright blue cagoule she is speaking of is the Ducksback version I am now making. The bright blue color is the Wiggy blue. Michele’s description of its weight and particularly the fact that it is quiet is enlightening, I never gave it thought. This tells me it is ideal for bow hunters at minimum and other hunters as well. I never thought of the quietness aspect of the Ducksback material. For the hunter the only colors I have are olive green and black, possibly the tan would work for some. I have been asked for the Ducksback in camo but the cost is prohibitively high.

Thank you Michele for your testimonial and also thanks to your husband for making it possible.

I believe the Ducksback Alaska Range Parka is an excellent bow hunter’s garment as well. By adding the zip in liners extends the temperature range of the parka for colder weather hunting. The fabric does not get stiff when the temperature drops into the subzero range so it remains noiseless.

For many years I have incorporated the ideas or comments from my customers to add to products or improve products because you never know when a good idea is presented to you (me).

Michele opened my eyes to the Ducksback cagoule having a meaningful use for hunters, just like the hunter who asked me to make the stream crossing waders or the inventor of the leg jackets asking me to make them for him; he eventually just gave me the go ahead to make and sell them on my own. The single person bivi shelter was the brain child of a U.S. Air Force Chief who wanted the product for his security unit. It was further modified based upon the field use of 4 or 5 people who purchased them and told me what they believed would make it better. I incorporated all of their ideas so today I best Single Person Bivi Shelter on the market. The final product I will mention is the Hypothermia Evacuation Bag. I saw a picture of one made in England that had a shape I could easily copy. I knew the use of the Lamilite would improve it. However, I did not know how important it was to be user friendly. This knowledge came to me from several EMT’s and a doctor. What you see today is a product with a number of attributes that make the Hypo bag user friendly. They the EMT’s explained to me that the casualty victim was just to remain still as they did their job so this is the reason it has to be user friendly.

Going into the future I suspect I will receive more suggestions, but how many will be implemented is anyone’s guess. However, make no mistake that I will listen and give all suggestions consideration.

I can just see it now if the boot companies were to listen to their customers; they in total would be told by their customers to end the use of goretex and Thinsulate in their boots. Those who have Wiggy products made with Lamilite might even suggest that they try the Lamilite after all it works very well in the Wiggy boots.

Then maybe verde will get letters and calls from customers who have purchased goretex products suggesting that gore stop selling their product since it does not work. Just imagine if that is the response that verde gets to their program asking how goretex changed their life. Of course from my perspective the people who spent money on goretex products got poorer, not a good life changing action.

Maybe verde will decide to learn if goretex and or a product like goretex can work. All they would have to do is accept reality that shows a human sweats water and if the outside water cannot get into a goretex laminated jacket how can water inside the jacket get out? The answer is “IT CAN’T”!!! Verde I trust you now get it!

Just as I was about to post this on my blog the following testimonial arrived.

Ducksback Alaskan Ski Parka

The Alaska parka with L3 liner is a great ski coat for temps down to 5 degrees. i wear a light cotton
t shirt, cotton dress shirt and sometimes a thin nylon vest as base layers and am warm as toast.
The coat is dry and comfortable in all kinds of weather.
