The article you have just read was published in the INFANTRY publication in Nov/Dec 1993.
It clearly indicates that goretex does not work. As for the sleeping bags, if they used mine which were available at the time they would have learned that a wet Wiggy bag is not a detriment.
In all of these years that the military has been specifying goretex it has not performed as intended.
The end result as is reported by the LT. COL. is a number of casualties from cold weather conditions, and it is not the first time. The article speaks for itself. What more proof is needed to end the use of this and all copycat products whether it is sold to the military or the average consumer?
REALITY is that which exists. It is an axiomatic concept not a definition.
Ayn Rand; Galt’s speech from Atlas Shrugged.
What the Lt. Col. observed was reality of some of the men in his command having a very bad experience. He recognized why and unfortunately nothing has ever been done about it, and it has been 25 years that this material is still being used for military products since
his experience. Will reality ever be accepted with respect to the concept of a waterproof and breathable material be rejected for what it really is, an anti-concept. Anti-concepts do not exist in the real world, where they exist I do not know since I live in the real world where A=A.
The American soldier is still being I think abused by being issued some of the items that are made with bogus materials, and that is my opinion.
