An interesting test. Marc from Wiggy’s Alaska found this on face book. Need I say more about hiring people to promote Wiggy’s.

Hello Wiggy fans,

I’m Tina, Marc’s “Magnificent Other”. I assist Marc in the Wiggy’s Alaska

retail Store from time to time. I had a lady come in the other day, January

17 and she said she wanted to Thank Wiggy’s. I thought. Ok, I’ll bite…

“Why are you thanking Wiggy’s?” She said she was a dog handler for Nick

Petit, professional musher. Recently, Nick won the Kuskokwim 300. Nick

proudly wears Wiggy Antarctic Gear and has for many years. She said she

was in -60-degree weather every day of the race. She also wears Antarctic

gear, specifically the bibs, the parka, the mukluks and the super mitts.

Keep in mind, as a dog handler, you are standing around a lot. She said

she was always toasty warm, and she wanted to thank Wiggy’s for that.

She had an extra Antarctic Parka and she let one of the other handlers

borrow it because he was freezing in his non-Wiggy Gear!

On a side note, she said Nick told her he was always warm, but there was

some kind of temperature inversion for about a mile or so while he was on

the trail, that he actually had to squat down on his sled to stay warm. He

strongly believes it was -80 ish and his chest got a little chilly. So maybe

that is the temperature bottom that we have never been able to find.

Humm. I want to also thank you Wiggy for developing all your cold

weather gear. It makes it a lot more tolerable to live in Alaska in the winter.

Tina Cole

I met Nick when I was up in Alaska for an Iditarod banquet one year.

  1. Fantastic Mittens!

I've had these mittens for a year or two but only really started using them recently (due to it finally being cold enough). They're amazing! Here in Montana it's been at or below zero F for a couple weeks now. I leave my Kodiak Mittens in the car so when I get in they're at the same temp- zero! But they begin to warm INSTANTLY! Honestly, the second I put my hand in them I can begin to feel warmth. Last winter I opted to go with gloves over the mittens due to their bulk; I tend to accidentally smack the wiper or blinker stalks when I wear them. But at or below zero degrees every pair of gloves I've tried are pure garbage, leaving my fingers too cold to comfortably drive. So now I'm just gonna suck it up and tolerate the bulk!

The construction of these bad boys is outstanding. The stitching is terrific and the design is great. The articulated thumb really makes a difference.

These mittens are so phenomenal that I'll probably get one of the more expensive Wiggy's mittens with the trigger finger box. That would allow me to have warm hands while still being able to shoot or manipulate a knife.

Kudos on yet another amazing product!

There is an online publication “sports insight” which I get often. The following article was there this morning. As I said in the January 27 article the making of so called “waterproof breathable fabrics” is a live and well because there is so much money in selling people garments based on a lie. This article further promotes that fantasy. My comments in italics.

Need I say more about Helly Hansen has been honoured with the prestigious German Design Award in the category of Excellent Product Design [I have in all my years in the business never heard of this award] for the brand-new Odin 3D Air Shell Jacket launching for Summer 2020. The German Design Award is one of the most renowned design competitions worldwide and celebrates innovative brands and products that have successfully competed to prove they are among the best in the world. [Interesting how they speak of celebrating innovative brands and products among the BEST IN THE WORLD and they have never known of Wiggy’s. they must have their branes where the sun doesn’t shine].Developed in partnership with the Norwegian volunteer search and rescue team, Norsk Folkehjelp (Norwegian People’s Aid), [ The SAR people don’t know about Wiggy’s when we sell SAR teams all over Europe

The new, Odin 3D Air Shell Jacket to meet the demands of the harsh and unreliable conditions that come naturally in the mountains of Norway. The result is a waterproof, windproof and breathable 2.75L [Here we go again with still another w/p b and windproof garment.] shell jacket for high-output activities during light-and-fast peak mountain adventures. By incorporating a new 3D printed backing, the 2.75L jacket is as light as a 2.5L jacket, but more durable and protective than a 3L jacket of equal weight. I have no knowledge of the 3L jacket but this one is replacing it because the old one didn’t work. So, we know have a new and improved version that will equally not work.] The 3D backing offers a comfortable, dry touch when wearing next to skin. [ Seems to me that no one ever tried wearing this garment with- out a shirt and worked out, because if they did, they sure as hell would have found out that it would not be dry to the touch.] The jacket has been ergonomically designed with focus on male and female cool and hot

spots. [Another statement that is non-sensical.] By using gender-specifically placed, two-way side ventilation zippers and open mesh panels on the back to provide maximum airflow around the body, users will experience optimum temperature control. [Pit zippers and mesh panels have been used in jackets every now and then for years and guess what they provided no ventilation until you stopped and took off the jacket.] Sarah Randall, Product Manager for Mountain at Helly Hansen, said: “We are thrilled to be rewarded with the German Design Award. It is an honour to be recognised for the passion and dedication Helly Hansen has to driving innovation with unique designs that can withstand the world’s harshest climates and conditions. [Helly Hanson is an opportunistic company these days as are many others and will make any type of garment that is selling and because of goretex they are as are others coming out with their own take on w/p b garments with their own concoction of such a material. Goretex and 3d as well as every other concoction in the world doesn’t work. But if it has style, the buys apparently do not care if it works or not so that is what the designers concentrate on.]

I wonder if I will live enough to see people go into stores that carry wp/b garments and footwear and ask for product that is not made with any wp/b material and if the answer from the store keeper is, “this what we have” so, the individual(s) walks out. If this were to happen many times in many stores, then maybe it will get the suppliers attention like whacking them with a 4x4 over the head.

As you can see from the email, I published in Tuesday’s article from 2002 stating that goretex does not work has anything at gore changed? Yes, the names that they dream up for the supposed new products that they are putting into the marketplace.

What I learned years ago about the way these large companies do business is how the sell. A retailer cannot cherry pick what he/she wants for his/her store anymore. The manufacturer says you have to buy a certain amount of each product, so you have a large representation of our products. It does not matter if some products are not good, the retailer must take them anyway. In order for the retailer to sell the wpb merchandise the retailer must perpetuate the lie about the products even if it is known to the retailer that the product does not work. For the sake of good order you might want to ask the retailers at the stores you frequent if they have proof positive that goretex and the copy cats products work!!!!!!!!!!!

A SPECIAL HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE COLOR CHOICES FOR THE ULTRA LIGHTS AND SUPPER LIGHTS TO INCLUDE COYOTE BROWN. I made an excellent buy of material at a very good price so i can now offer the coyote at the same price as the ACU and Marpat.
