EXTREME COLD WEATHER FIRE RETARDANT CLOTHING ENSEMBLE
I have been working with the oil industry in Alaska for many years supplying them with FR clothing. I am now expanding the number of items for anyone who works in a cold environment where there is a chance of a fire.
The newest item is FR fishnet long underwear. Until now what I had was simply nylon which you would not want to wear as a first layer in the event of high heat since it could melt into your skin. That problem is now solved with a FR fishnet material. In extreme cold as I have written about many times moisture trapped against the skin surface becomes the enemy of all humans. But, if that moisture moves easily away from the skin surface it goes into the layers that cover the fishnets which mean no chill to you and because the moisture is moving through the layers of clothing it acts on any heat in a positive manner, cooling it.
Over the fishnets I recommend only garments that are made from woven fabric versus knitted fabric because the moisture as a vapor will move easily through the woven material whereas the knitted material will stifle that movement.
I will also have lightly insulated jacket and vest liners all made with FR materials.
There will also be FR leather insulated boots and socks just like the non FR boots and socks I currently make. Then of course I will be making FR over boots and Muk Luks.
On your head there will be a FR insulated head cover.
The hand wear will be the Antarctic extreme mittens, again all FR.
And finally the Antarctic parka and bib.
When this ensemble is worn you will be able to function quite easily in temperatures in the -60 degree F range.
Some of the samples are in the works as I write. Once completed I will put them up on the web site.
