Many years ago when I skied I wore a nylon wind shirt. It was a pullover style with a dress shirt collar, under the wind shirt was my sweater and under that was a turtle neck. I did not know about fishnets at the time even though they were available. The DUCKSBACK insulated wind shirt replaces the sweater and turtle neck garments as well as the wind shirt itself. Not only are you more comfortable wearing one layer versus three but you will be warmer, even more so if you are wearing the fishnet top as a first layer garment. For spring skiing the combination will be fantastic. But there are numerous activities you can be involved with that this garment will serve one very well.
The insulation is obviously Lamilite and it is L-3 and the lining that would go against your skin is the same fabric I use for the second layer garment that goes over the fishnet top. Moisture buildup inside the garment would not last very long so the chill factor is done away with.
If you happen to encounter rain and you are wearing the wind shirt as your outer garment no problem the rain water will run off of the fabric like water running down a DUCKSBACK.
The first sample made for me, see the pictures on the web site, has a weight of one pound; that information is for the weight conscious.
The cost for this product is $160.00.
The current color selection are the current DUCKSBACK colors, size will range for small to triple extra-large.
The reason that this product came about is because I was told that skiers/snowboarders of this day and age are wearing two layers of under armour garments before their outerwear garment. Of course anyone dressing like that to ski must unequivocally get a chill when they get on the chair lift to go back up the mountain. This holds true for one and all of the close knit first layer garments available today. Of course the sellers of these garments will tell you how well their fabric wicks moisture, what they don’t tell you is that they are just joking. I believe they are disingenuous.
The more I think about or hear from customers about the variety of products that can be made better if the shell material is DUCKSBACK the more encouraged I am about using it.
More products to come, in the meantime look for the new DUCKSBACK Insulated Wind Shirt on the web site.
