I wrote about using tension laces on my leather lace-up ski boots in the 1960’s. I found a supplier of them, which can be seen on the boots pictured. I immediately replace my boot laces with them today on my new Lamilite boots. They are more comfortable for me than standard laces since they stretch as my feet increase—as everybody’s feet do during the day.
Once laced up, there are special cord locks to hold the laces in place—eliminating the need for tying a bow knot. The surface texture is not smooth so they tend to stay in place.
The cost is $10.00 per pair when purchased as a single item or $7.50 per pair if purchased with a pair of boots.
