on being ignored

ON BEING IGNORED

As many of you know I am not appreciated by the outdoor industry in general because I do not fit their mold of being a “good old boy”. I never exhibit at the OR show nor do I sell retailers. As a matter of fact when a retailer has called wanting to carry the Wiggy’s line of bags I tell them I will only sell them if the stop selling all other brands. Of course that will never happen. I also tell them they cannot get terms, but would have to pay before shipping because I do not trust them. For those reasons and many more I am not liked by the outdoor industry flock. I say flock because birds of a feather stick together.

Of course these retailers would love to have Wiggy’s bags to sell because Wiggy’s bags are not only the very best sleeping bags made in the world they are the bestselling sleeping bags in the world.

September 25^th a fellow named Luis Benitez visited Grand Junction to give a talk on some of his climbing accomplishments which is impressive and to further talk about what he is doing for companies located in Colorado that actually manufacture products related to use in the outdoors, like sleeping bags. When he finished and the question period started I introduced myself and inquired what he was doing or going to do for companies like Wiggy’s.

Luis is the director of the outdoor recreation office for the state of Colorado. He said he knew of Wiggy’s and was on their list of instate companies. He further pointed to a man and woman who work under him specifically on the western slope of Colorado, where I happen to be located. Before I left the luncheon I gave the woman my card and told her I was always available to talk with her.

Today is October 31, 2017 and I have yet to get a call from anyone at the outdoor recreation office, I think this fellow has been in his position for over a year so if I hadn’t received a call from him or whomever why should I get one now.

I have no problem with them ignoring me because I am quite sure they have absolutely nothing to offer me. I view him and her as well as her sidekick as useless civil servants. They bring absolutely no value to the table so to speak for what my tax dollars are paying them. Their deal surrounds the fact that the state of Colorado is now hosting the Outdoor Retailer trade show as it has moved from Salt Lake City. Utah.

Now these civil servants will be in their glory wining and dining or be wined and dined by companies that exhibit at the show I expect. My real further view of these people is that they are politicians.

They obviously do not appreciate that Wiggy’s brings several millions of dollars into the state with visitors to the factory, provides jobs for people, truck shipping and Wiggy’s is in the top three shippers on the western slope by Federal Express and UPS as well as US mail. that said I expect these lame brains will promote a company like big agnes who IMPORTS probably every product they sell and of course it is specifically their sleeping bags that are trash.

Ignore me they may, but their stupidity flows down my back like water down a Ducksback!
