Smart fabric helps the body heal itself
Advanced Textiles, Markets | June 1, 2023
[Socks developed by Supreme Corp. are worn by Indian Special Forces soldiers to alleviate pain in their feet and leg muscles. The soldiers at times carry a 65-pound backpack at an elevation of 19,000 feet.]
I find the above comment a stretch. I am aware that the Indian army works at extremely high elevations, generally in the 17000 foot altitude. I know this from the extensive discussions I have had with the military about sleeping bags, they claim to want mine but, have yet to make a purchase. I would have been impressed if the U.S. Military were using them. Even though they work at lower altitudes they do carry equally weighted backpacks.
I do not believe socks are capable of alleviating foot and leg pain that may develop while conducting the activity.
[The health and wellness market has beenamong the first to embrace advances in smart yarns and to take advantage of the versatility of engineered textiles. Supreme Corp., a producer of high-tech textiles and electrically conductive yarn and sewing thread, has created a revolutionary fabric called Thermoregulating Therapeutic Smart Fabric (TTSF), which it says can promote healing and enhance human performance.]
I always question companies the use the word “thermoregulation” always suggesting that what they have can actually heat? The fabric is also “therapeutic” and is smart.” They further claim it can “promote healing and enhance human performance.” So, the Indian soldiers whose feet and legs begin hurting now wearing these socks that will no longer happen. How is this possible? Keep reading.
The company, based in North Carolina, recently announced a collaboration with Advanced Functional Fabrics of America (AFFOA) to incorporate AFFOA’s monofilament yarn embedded with tiny LED lights.
Do you ever go fishing and if so, do you happen to use three pound test monofilament line? Can you imagine LED lights imbedded in the line? I can’t.
[“We are using this with our ‘upconversion nanoparticles’ in our TTS yarn to heal the body from incisions, infections, broken bones and other medical conditions,” says Matt Kolmes, Supreme’s CEO.]
There is no such word “upconversion” in our dictionary so what does that mean and how does it effect nanoparticles? But this yarn with the LED lights in it can “heal the body from incisions, infections, BROKEN BONES [that one I love], and other medical conditions.” Are these guys watching Star Teck? Matt, were you using some other approved medicine to expand your mind?
[The new TTS-Nano-Hybrid LED Yarn will be capable of energy harvesting to support both thermoregulation and therapeutic applications. The material can be used in base layers, socks, gloves and sleeves in various smart textile applications, including medical uses and therapeutic textiles.]
Now we know how the LED lights get their power to light up, it is by harvesting the energy from your body. So, wearing any of these base layer garments referred too you will experience for the first time thermoregulation never before known to man in the existing base layer garments sold.
The volume of imaginary materials that can do whatever keeps growing. They apparently do not know the body does heal itself. CHARLATONS!!!
