WINTER SURVIVAL TECHNIQUE
Hi Jerry,
It's the first WIGGYS DAY of 2024 here in Illinois! (The first day of the year requiring the good kit.)
Well buddy, we're looking
at two days of 6-12 inch snow accumulation, frigid air temps and high winds
here in Iowa and Illinois. Snowmagedden for us especially those of us
traveling at night on a regular basis.
Wiggys Day for those in the know and prepared.
I am wearing my Lamilite
boots and socks daily at this point. I've been wearing the Ducksback
parka, with my Renegade mittens in the pockets. Once it gets cold, I
throw my dry bags containing my Leg Jackets, FTRSS system, a spare Wiggys bag,
Mukluks along with my over-boots in the car or truck I'm using along with my
basic winter kit, water, candles, flare, flashlights, strobes, and
snacks. I save the mesh underwear for snow blowing and recreation stuff
when I'm expecting to be exerting myself and sweating.
It's comforting knowing that if I should end up stuck in a ditch somewhere,
I'll be functional and good when someone gets there to get me out. And if
I should end up afoot, I'm still good to go. There is no other gear I
would even consider using for this weather. Folks don't seem to realize
that this weather is an actual potential survival situation if things go
sideways. I consider the Lamilite to be cheap insurance and totally worth
the investment.
Thanks again for the safety margins your gear brings to the field, and the
peace of mind that provides.
Be safe,
Vince

Vincent has been a long time customer and occasionally I have published his stories. This is the most in-depth story of his preparation for survival, if necessary, which I appreciate and am glad to offer it to one and all.
While he does not mention it what is very important to remember is the fact that moisture does not have any negative effect on the Lamilite insulated products. In a cold weather survival situation nullifying moisture is vital. Lamilite does that.
Good advice from Vincent
