NEW TESTIMONIALS I FOUND ON MY WEB SITE

Old Time Wiggy Customer

Somewhere around thirty years ago I purchased a Wiggy sleep system that I got to try out in a very leaky tent. I was perfectly comfortable and warm all night long, so imagine my surprise to discover that I'd been sleeping in two inches of water for most of the night. The Lamilite insulation is nothing short of miraculous. I hung my bag in the sun and it was as good as new within a couple of hours. I've never found a better bag and I'm a true believer for life.

– Edward Allyn

True Temperature Rating

I took my superlight out on a new year’s camping trip with my dad onto some mountains in Tennessee, the temp that night got down to about 1F before wind-chill. I was fine in this bag and having a matching poncho liner made it much more comfortable. Me being a powerlifter at about 6"0 and 236lbs this bag in the wide sizing fits very well. I also never go out camping without the Wiggys pillow that was included, by far that is the best camp pillow I've ever used. This is a superior bag and rivals the USGI bag combo that is currently issued. The material is extremely durable and comfortable to sleep in. I recommend this bag highly to anyone on the fence about it.

– Zachary

The top letter I received today and when I clicked on the notification I was just above the second letter. With respect to Edward’s comment about sleeping in two inches of water, I have two or three times in the past heard the same comment. I have never heard of anyone sleeping comfortably in a wet sleeping bag from ANY other company domestic or foreign.

Zachary obviously does not know that I created the original two bag system but the army “experts” working with Tennier Industries the eventual contractor changed it to the product that never has worked. They eventually supposedly changed it 4 times all to no avail. To state that my system rivals the government issued system is highly in accurate. My system has worked since day one and the government system has failed since day one.

However numerous military people have spent money from their own pocket as Zachary has to get my sleeping bags and/or sleep system. To the best of my knowledge all who have invested their money acquiring my bags have been very satisfied as have the many more civilians that have acquired them over the past 30 years.

WATER

It always gets back to water. From the air or your body. The mere fact is water can be dangerous. If it is hot weather and you sweat the water coming out of your pores will cool you. If it is cold weather the water coming out of your pores if not allowed to get away from you becomes potentially deadly.

As I am reading so many testimonial comments for the most part addressing success with Lamilite insulated products in wet situations it has given me pause to consider why the Lamilite causes such a positive reaction. Having learned that we give off water when we sweat and the heat coming off of our skin causes the water to vaporize and dry or go out of our clothing. I am inclined to believe the heat drives the moisture out of the clothing. I say that because my parka when I was lost is covered in frost and the only way the frost could develop is if the moisture originated from me.

When it comes to sleeping bags we are not visibly giving off liquid but I do believe we are, only very slowly. The human body gives off 5 pints of water during an 8 hour sleep cycle. During our wake hours we give off twice as much. In order for the water to get out of the sleeping bag it must be converted to a vapor and that can only happen if the heat from the body is contained in the sleeping bag. Lamilite has demonstrated this effect very successfully for the past 30 years.

All other bags have demonstrated for 100 years that they contain the water within the bag because the heat from the person lying in the bag is not being contained so the water stays on the skin surface or is absorbed into the clothing and in the case of a down bag it is absorbed by the down. If the body produced heat is not contained within the bag it is getting out of the bag via conduction. The heat is absorbed by the nylon lining which is touching whatever the insulation might be and as it moves to the cold outside air it speeds up. The end result is a person in a sleeping bag being cold and not sleeping.

It has become very obvious to me that water does become the enemy of the human in cold conditions; from 50 degrees and lower. When I review all of the different garments offered that are supposed to deal with water it becomes very obvious that the creators of these garments have no idea what they are doing. When I read about all of the chemical companies that claim by putting their chemical on the fabric will miraculously cause the fabric the garment is made from get rid of the water I find it amazing that they really believe what they claim.

I personally believe the people employed at all of these companies do not care to begin with and do not care to know as well.

Try calling any of these companies to ask why the garments purchased aren’t doing what is claimed; that is if you can actually get to speak with someone. Good luck with that one!!!
