I read the above two write ups in an online publication I receive from a European online magazine. Please note that the word “waterproof” is used to initially describe a capability of each product and then as you read further into the article you also read “breathable”. They contradict themselves within the same paragraph. This is the technique that I believe emanated from gore. Say the most glorious thing up front and then add in the contradiction.

The first company making fleece garments I believe is British and Hi-Tec I guess is USA.

Do they really believe that the products they make actually function as they say, I personally believe they know their products are not both waterproof and “vapor permeable” but maybe they are alive so they breathe. I mean if gore says the film they market is breathable maybe after 40 years they have figured out in their $15,000,000.00 laboratory how to bring it to life. They already figured out in that same laboratory that toes get cold faster than the rest of the foot, REMARKABLE accomplishment so maybe they have a Teflon film that actually has lungs so it can breathe. Do not forget gore is very involved in the medical industry so who knows what comes out of that $15,000,000.00 laboratory.

It does not matter the product or company or location of the company they ALL like to say they have the impossible a material that will be waterproof and breathable. Reminds me of the history program that is titled “making the impossible possible”. Maybe they will do a program about gore.

I wonder if some of these companies are so far along with either the gore material or any of the others that do the same thing; trap moisture from your body within the garment that to eliminate them would put the companies out of business. They have so much tied up in this bogus non-functioning product they would not know what to replace them with.

One reader suggested a class action law suit but I have a better idea, ALL of the manufacturers who have succumbed to the non-functioning waterproof / breathable concept should band together and go after the source for putting them in the situation of marketing a non-functioning product. that will never happen because the companies selling garments made from the materials that do not function as claimed either can’t think or simply put do not know how to think. If they did know how to think they would now know that waterproof / breathable is a non-functioning product.

Of course the unsuspecting consumers who are under 25 years of age will be swayed by all of the fancy verbiage and waste their money on these garments; why because they to in my opinion fail to understand that what they are being shown are garments that cannot possibly do what is advertised. Maybe they should “think” about it!!!
