WIND CHILL
I was just out walking Cookie. We had about 3 inches of snow last night and the temperature is now at a high of 32 degrees, but the wind is blowing off of the mountains to the north at about 15/20 knots. So the wind chill is probably 10 or 14 degrees.
I was wearing my Alaska Range parks with the L-3 liner over a cotton shirt.
The fit on me is a lose fit. I was not cold nor was any of the wind penetrating my garment.
I was thinking of the people who have been hood winked into buying the form fitting thin quilted jackets that have become popular over the last three or so years, regardless if the fill is down or polyester they must be more than uncomfortable actually been freezing in those garments.
What I have seen thus far in the promotion of outerwear garments that will be shown at the OR show are no different except for color and quilt pattern.
I am now more certain than I have ever been that these companies that market these products like they market waterproof/breathable or moisture winking or moisture management garments have NEVER EVER used these garments.
I further believe they think of the consumers as people who are less than intelligent.
More to come once the outdoor retailer show opens this week.
