CATS AND DOGS HAVE BEEN PERENIAL FAVORITES OF WIGGY’S BAGS.

Jerry,

Last Sunday, my dog ran back to the house howling in pain with a clearly broken radius and ulna. Poor guy underwent surgery and received a pin and a rod that was inserted into his bones. He’s on the mend and getting better. Last night, as I was putting him into his kennel for the night, he began to quietly murmur and I thought he was in pain. He immediately came to me and, feeling sorry for him, I went upstairs and took out my Wiggy’s sleeping bag and lay down on a sleeping mat. Buddy curled up next to me and before I knew it, he had most of the bag in and around him sleeping soundly. Feeling sorry for myself, I took out my wife’s bag and laid that over me, only to have to share it with the cat.

I bet you didn’t know that Wiggy’s was the official prescribed sleeping bag for total animal recovery! The dog is on it now refusing to sleep in his bed or return to the kennel. Even my dog and cat know Wiggy’s quality.

Keep up the good work.

Jeff Johnson

I have known this behavior of cats and dogs taking ownership of sleeping bags before, but I always enjoy hearing from someone who is experiencing this for the first time. What I find amazing is that he did not see this before since he has been a Wiggy’s bag user since my inception 30 years ago. Better late than never!

WHO MAKES THE BEST BASE LAYER?

Is it Smartwool, Patagonia, Icebreaker, Terramar, Columbia, Helly Hansen, Mountain Hardwear, Marmot, Craft, The North Face, Arc’teryx, Ibex, Under Armour, or somebody else?

The question is asked by SNEWS the illustrious “we know the outdoors” online publication serving the outdoor industry. They are asking people who visit their site to vote. I guess if you do go out of your house where ever you live you experience being in the “outdoors” and ultimately get to “know the outdoors”!What they who work for SNEWS do not know is the clothing that is necessary to keep you comfortable in the outdoors.

Each and every company named in this article makes what they are calling a base layer garment and there is not a single difference between them other than color and sewn in label, and that holds true for all of the rest of the companies that make the same garments making the same claim. As for ability to perform, not a one of them will perform any different from any other brand named. So why vote for any in the first place. The end result is simple none of them will do what each of these companies claim; allow your moisture to get out of the garment. The last thing that any of these company’s garments are going to do is keep you comfortable in the outdoors when you are in the field versus the pub! As I have said repeatedly they will all keep you wet so you can always experience a chill when in the outdoors.

During the outdoor retailer trade show backpacker magazine personnel would interview sales people from various companies high lighting a new product. The one interview that was of the greatest interest for me dealt with a new marmot rain garment utilizing the most waterproof material they ever used. The spoke’s person for marmot was a young woman not 30 years of age. After she mentioned how waterproof the fabric was she finally finished with “and it also breathes”. Her generation has grown up under the premise that goretex is a miracle material because it supposedly will do the impossible be waterproof and “vapor permeable” which it is not as we all now know unless we are 25 years old. Her generation is brain washed into thinking the impossible is possible. Bobby gore should take pride in knowing he has helped to dumb down the youth of America.

She probably also thinks that primaloft is a great insulation.

So you see here are three categories of products that factually and blatantly do not do as the marketers of the products claim.
