TWO TESTIMONIALS
The following two testimonials come from a Ernesto Garcia customer who lives in Japan. He has been purchasing products for about 10 years. When he put in his last order a few days ago he said he would write a testimonial. It encompasses a story of interest.
Thank you, Ernesto
SUPER LIGHT TESTIMONIAL
As you know I live in Japan, but not in a city or urban area. I rent an old house in the mountainous northern Japanese countryside. When I moved in the owner told me that I could do as I pleased with the house as I was to be the last person living in it; when I moved out the house would be torn down.
Three or so years ago, before the COVID nonsense, one of the typhoons that was powerful enough to make it inland damaged part of the roof of the old house, making a hole about 2.5 meters in diameter. I covered the hole with some thick tarps to stop the rain from coming in (but not the cold) and called the owner. “Yeah, I’ll try to get around to it soon,” he said. Things move slowly in the Japanese countryside, and he must have been too busy, too, because I’m still waiting for it to be repaired. I don’t own the house so I’m not going to pay for any repairs, knowing I will have to wait forever to be reimbursed. A couple of big earthquakes have enlarged the problem but I’ve rejigged the tarps so moisture stays completely out, although nothing stops the cold.
Luckily, I have a collection of your bags, including two Super Lights. They have absolutely saved the day. Cold weather starts early in the year in the Japanese mountains and lingers late, and there is no central heating in these old houses (we use portable kerosene heaters), but the Super Lights have kept me totally warm. I usually use the bags in a rotation but sometimes I zip them together and stretch out (one has a right zip and the other a left zip). The bags get well over 200 nights of use a year, in the cold house as well as in the field, so, at three years and counting, I’ve had more time in the Super Lights than many people accumulate over a life-time. The rest of the year, when I’m not using a Super Light in the house, I use one of your comforters.
I’ve been hiking, climbing, hunting, camping, and generally enjoying nature for decades but your products are the ONLY outdoor gear I have used that does exactly what it claims. Sometimes I’ll wake up and feel that the outer layer of the bag is wet and notice that it may be flecked with frost (and sometimes light ice) but I am toasty and dry inside. The first time that happened I said out loud, “Damn, he wasn’t bullshitting!”
The Super Light is heavier and packs bigger than most bags. So what. I’d rather pay that price in weight and size and know, 100%, that I am going to sleep warm and dry. Money may not be able to buy love, as the poets claim, but a small amount of it can buy the best damn sleeping bag in the world. Thanks, Jerry.

Vest Liner testimonial
I live in northern rural Japan, where most people have a couple of jobs. I’m no exception. One of my jobs is a local firefighter. Bunker turnout gear is pretty heavy so one doesn’t worry about being too cold in autumn, winter, or early spring. Life outside bunker gear in cold weather is not always so toasty, however. Firefighters in Japan do not train or parade in outer coats or jackets – station uniform only (trousers and long-sleeve shirt, utility belt, gloves, boots), even when it’s below freezing (as it usually is for the mass parade in January). One is expected to toughen up, to be stoic and bear it. This is where your brilliant vest liner wins the day – a light breathable base layer (or two) plus your vest liner under my station uniform shirt and I’m warm and happy. I’ve used, abused, and love every one of the many Wiggy products I’ve bought over the years, but I think the relatively unsung vest liner may be the best of the lot. Thanks, Jerry.
