THEY ARE UNCONCIOUS!
CONSCIOUSNESS: [is] the faculty of perceiving that which exists. [Axiomatic concept: not a definition.]- AYN RAND
AXIOMATIC CONCEPT: An axiomatic concept is the identification of a primary fact of reality, which cannot be analyzed, i.e., reduced to other facts or broken into component parts. It is implicit in all facts and in all knowledge.-AYN RAND
PERCEPTION: A “perception” is a group of sensations automatically retained and integrated by the brain of a living organism, which gives it the ability to be aware, not of single stimuli, but of entities of things. – AYN RAND
REALITY: is that which exists. [Axiomatic concept: not a definition.]
When companies promote products that do not function in the manner that is claimed in the promotion they are in my opinion functioning in the world of the unconscious.
At the very top of the list of products that do not work as offered are ALL of the materials that are promoted as waterproof and breathable. These products are followed by and in no particular order other products that do not perform as working in the manner that they are advertised.
ALL materials those are capable of wicking moisture other than pure cotton, wool, silk or rayon. EVERY synthetic fabric made from synthetic fiber has not capacity to absorb moisture therefore it cannot wick the moisture. WICKING action is when moisture is absorbed at one side of the fabric and it moves through the fabric to the opposite side of the fabric. There are a multitude of companies at this time that sell chemicals that they claim will cause wicking action, not true.
Cooling towels is another material that does not do as it is advertised to do. Imagine playing basketball on a warm day outside and generating a significant amount of sweat. You pick up your cooling towel and it’s about the size of a hand towel and you wipe your brow and neck and low and behold you have caused your body temperature to drop 20 degrees. I am not skeptical that it can be done because I know it can’t be done.
Odor cannot be stopped but it can be masked. However, the market place is being swamped by chemical companies that spout they have a chemical that will end all production of body odor. Another action that is not possible.
Of course there are all of the insulations that have come about over the past 30 years that have proven beyond question that they do not work and I include down in the mix as well.
All of the people involved in the making and marketing of all of these various materials or chemicals function in a world of unconsciousness. They chose not to accept reality based upon years of experience showing that all of these products do not perform as advertised and they the products noted will never function as advertised.
When one choses to live in an unconscious state of being, they never have to accept responsibility for anything they do. The only analogy I can think of is when one is a drug addict and is living in a state of un-consciousness. When did a drug addict ever take responsibility for their actions? NEVER!
The Outdoor Retailer trade show opens on Wednesday of this week and as such I’ll be able to view ALL of the newest and greatest that will be offered for next spring or possibly even this fall and winter. There is no telling what miracles will be shown.
Tomorrow I will be posting the first of the miracle products that will be shown at the OR show, I didn't have to wait long.
