I put the fire retardant mukluks on the web site at a cost of $270.00 per pair. As of today you will find them on the web site for $200.00 per pair.

About 4 months ago I received an e mail from a civilian who works for the Marine Corps who was charged with the responsibility to find insulated mukluks because the Marines working the flight line needed them to wear over their steel toed FR boots during the winter. The steel gets cold so they could not keep their feet warm and of course the mukluks also had to be FR and with them they would have warm feet.

Since I have been working for some time with Nomex (25 years) fabric for the parkas worn by oil field workers and for the past 3 years with FR Lamilite/Climashield when this individual contacted me I called I told them that I have what I believe would be the best mukluk in the world. I sent them a pair which was shown to a number of Marines who tried them on and as I was told they “loved” them. They were shown to the east coast people and the west coast people. One reaction from all was these are what we need.

I was told that they would be ordered for use during training in Norway where as I was told they were experiencing cold feet in prior years. The Marines went so far as sending one company that would be bidding a list of the sizes required totaling 216 pair. Today I was told they have withdrawn the ordering. This is the last time I will work with them!!! They the Marines will once again experience cold feet while in Norway.

The end result is that I have 216 pair of these mukluks in production in color black. If you happen to work in the oil fields where all garments must be FR now for the very first time you can have the warmest mukluks you can buy that are FIRE RETARDANT.

I have been making mukluks since the early 1990’s that were initially purchased by dog mushers. The reality is that they have proven so efficient (they saved my feet when I was lost and experienced temperatures as low as -50 degrees F) that even the Swedes have purchased them when they sent scientists to the South Pole.

They are used all over the world so I am as confident as one can be that all who purchase my mukluks, FR or just plain will always have warm feet when they wear them.
