WHY GORE-TEX IS NOT ABOUT TO COME OFF OF THE MARKET ANYTIME SOON EVEN THOUGH IT IS A FRAUDULENT PRODUCT.
REI to turn to Gore-Tex technology from spring 2018
Outdoor clothing and equipment co-operative REI will use Gore-Tex membrane technology in its range of technical outerwear from spring 2018.
Is it possible to make a technical product that does
not work? Apparently both REI and Gore think so. The problem they face is
proving that the Gore product actually works. The reality is, is that it doesn’t
work but they are hell bent on offering it to the general public nationwide in
all REI stores as a product that does work. How can you trust a company that is knowingly presenting a
product that does not work as they are advertising it? You can’t or shouldn’t!
The companies made the announcement on the first day of the Outdoor Retailer
Summer Market in Salt Lake City, US (July 26-29).
Gore-Tex will replace eVent as REI’s fabric of choice for its waterproof and
breathable apparel.
Just in case you were unaware of the fact that the
Gore PTFE film and the eVent PTFE film are identical so why replace one with
the other? I suspect it has to do with advertising dollars. Oh by the way
neither is capable of being waterproof and breathable. So either way the buyer
of any apparel made with these films is not getting what is claimed!
REI will release three jackets and a pair of pants that use Gore-Tex Active in
spring 2018. It will add more products, including Gore-Tex gloves in autumn of
the same year. All will be available on men’s and women’s styles.
Fantastic the number of garment choices you will have to hold and retain moisture!
Now you have a glimpse of why Gore-Tex material and all materials claimed to not function any differently than Gore-Tex does, will not anytime soon come off of the market unless of course the FTC steps in and says prove your claim. That will not happen because the military is a major buyer of this garbage. The companies that have garments made with these materials have no idea what to replace it with that they can talk up.
I am not an attorney but is there grounds for a class
action law suit here?
GORPCORE IS A NEW WORD FOR ME TO SEE/READ AND WHAT IT MEANS IS NOT EXPLAINED IN THE ARTICLE AS FAR AS I CAN READ. BUT IT IS THE NEW NORMAL I GUESS.
Gorpcore is the new normcore
Gorpcore is taking fashion runways, city streets,

How Swiftwick tells its story through real athletes and real photos.
March for public lands creates massive buzz
Socks and Chacos? Fleeces that fit like bags? Vests? In 2017, the fashion industry is saying yes to all.
It’s called gorpcore and it’s fusing the fundamentals of practical campwear with the principles of high fashion to create an urban inside joke with a dash of earnestness.
“The clothing we choose to wear sends a message on who we are and how our values align in the world,” said Sunshine Fox, senior manager of color, material, and trend at REI. “Gorpcore tells the world that you care about the environment and that you take time to unplug and get outdoors.”
Backpacker Magazine digital editor Adam Roy models gorpcore at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2017.
Like normcore before it, gorpcore’s main idea is that the unfashionable can be fashionable—if you wear it right. At its center, gorpcore is a rejection of consumerism where minimalism supplants glamour.
Fashion reporters in New York have noted gorpcore beginning to infuse street style—with some trend practitioners going as far as to wear fleece vests and fanny packs as they tromp around Manhattan and Brooklyn.
For retailers and buyers alike, it’s more than just a fleeting burst of Patagucci pullovers and grandpa-ish wool sweaters, but a sign of the times.
“We view gorpcore as a response to the chaos and anxiety happening in the world,” says Fox. “From politics to the feelings of always having to be tethered to a device.”
Gorpcore answers the call of the wild with a response that's hard to argue with: The only way out of the chaos is over the back fence and into the woods.
As you can see the outdoor industry has become a fashion industry moving away from pure functional garments which years ago were also fashionable. I would like to see all of these articles appear in publications that appear in consumer magazines, but that will not happen. Welcome to the non-functioning outdoor garments that come from companies like Patagonia or as they say Patagucci.
