WHY LAMILITE LINING IS SO GOOD IN BOOTS
The following is a testimonial just received.
Just writing to update you and ask a
question.
I bought a pair of your Chukka boots early spring. I've been wearing them all
summer in the desert while running errands, doing light yard work and walking
on hot black top in temps hitting 110. Very comfortable. Doubt there are any
other "insulated" boots a person would want to wear in 110 degree
heat.
Now for a question.
I have a son who plays college baseball in the Midwest. They play in some
pretty cold weather. 30 degrees and wind at times.
I was wondering if you could make an anklet style Lamilite sock that could fit
inside baseball cleats. They have to wear their thin uniform socks so the fit
could be a bit tricky.
Just curious if it's possible.
Thanks,
Kent
I thanked Kent for the update on his experience with the boots and suggested he get the 8 inch Lamilite socks for his son.
Many years ago when I was getting my boots from Wellco I used mine during the summer without any socks and the temperature was about 100 degrees for days and I was cutting down trees on my farm. So Kent’s experience isn’t new to me. He is quite correct that there are no other insulated boots that will perform as Lamilite boots do.
I have also worn my Lamilite boot during the winter months without socks as low as about 0 degrees before I was making the Lamilite socks, but since I have been making the socks I do wear them all winter long.
Last night I received the following e mail.
Hi Jerry,
I wore Bogs Boots in the oil field. They were very good. Basically the same as Mucks but less expensive. That was before I discovered Wiggys. I'm all Wiggys now.....
You might try to contact Bogs and tell them that you have something that will put them out beyond Mucks. See what they say.....
I have no clue how it will go but my experience with Bogs customer service was fantastic! Exceptional! They treated me better than they should have.
So maybe they are a good company but do not understand the Wiggy Way..... ?
Good luck.
Mark
PS - I loved my Lamilite Boots so much that I bought a second pair to just have a second pair setting on the shelf "just in case.......".
Best boots I have ever owned and I'm 57 years old.
Thank you for the excellent products.
I looked up the Bogs Boot Company and was able to speak with someone who put me on hold and inquired who to pass me on to. I received a name and email address, so I sent an email and will see if I get a response. Interestingly on their web site it does not show a location for the corporation. No companies want people to know where they are located anymore, sounds very strange to me. If I get a response I’ll let one and all know.
CHEMICALS AND NON-PERFORMING SLEEPING BAGS
All people who by the “no sleep sleeping bags” from all of the brands selling them have three things in common; 1- they have a “no sleep sleeping bag” because the insulation is ineffective to perform at the temperature rating applied to it, 2- they have wasted their money in acquitting one of these “no sleep sleeping bags” and 3- they are all exposing themselves to the various chemicals that have been applied to the fabrics in Asia. That is the worst part of the purchase of these bags. Since we know and have known for some years that the use of chemicals in China and probably Asia in general is not regulated as it is in the USA by the EPA fabrics coming here in the form of finished product have these chemicals on them. We also know thanks to rei and the study they commissioned Duke UN to do on tents proves this.
So when one uses one of these “no sleep sleeping bags” they are breathing in the fumes that come off of the fabric. ALL of the chemicals I have researched that are applied to fabrics are carcinogenic. Welcome to the start of accumulation of carcinogens into your body.
If you were born in 1940 you were not subjected to carcinogenic chemicals put on your clothing or any number of things. But if you were born in 1960 you have been subjected to carcinogenic chemicals your whole life, hence the proliferation of cancer hospitals opening up all over the country and the vast number of young people developing cancer.
FLAMMABLE TENTS
I called ll bean and asked if they sold tents that were flame retardant treated. This woman in customer service had to go to a product specialist and she was told by the product specialist and I quote; “there is no flame retardants applied to the tent materials, and most tents are made from polyester fabric”. I did not hesitate to tell her that polyester is highly flammable and that she should tell the product specialist to read the articles for the past two weeks on the Wiggy’s web site. I did not tell her I was Wiggy.
I am appalled that rei kept there Duke report under wraps since 2016 and I am equally appalled that ll bean has people in their employ who have ABSOLUTELY no knowledge of fabrics. These are the product specialists to boot. I am sure they are selling nylon tents made with fire retardant treatments just like rei does. But if they are selling tents that are made from polyester they are an accident waiting to happen.
At the expense of repeating myself consumers unfortunately these days do not get accurate information from companies that either sell to retailers or from the retailers themselves.
As usual it all comes down to one thing and one thing only, cost and profit margin. These companies take the cheapest route to the greatest margin of profit and if the consumer is screwed so be it.
