PRICE INCREASES BECAUSE OF TARIFFS
For the past few days, the subjects of tariffs have been in the news.
I have listened carefully to all the conversation and have learned that a 25 percent tariff on merchandise entering the USA is paid by the company importing the merchandise. It is not paid by the company shipping in the merchandise nor the country from where it came from. Ultimately the 25 percent tariff is added to the cost the consumer pays for the merchandise. Therefore, the tariff is the cause of the price increase.
Recently I have received letters via email and some phone calls wanting to know how much longer I will have my sale prices in place, until January 2025.
There are no components that I use in the manufacture of our products that are imported.
As I have previously said I have secured many thousands of yards of nylon taffeta that is the same quality that I have used for over 40 years. It is the same quality I used when I owned Olam. The difference is that all the Wiggy used nylon is free of chemicals, so if someone is chemically sensitive, no problem.
As a part of the materials, I have acquired are the different colors that I have added to the web site. I want to stress that these materials are produced at domestic weaving mills.
As for pricing, I also want to stress that the selling prices you see on the web site today will not change for the rest of the year.
Since the balance of the outdoor industry to the best of my knowledge imports all the products sold will probably be subject to the tariffs.
Because Wiggy’s is in the USA with all its suppliers, also in the USA they can ship at the moment’s notice. I have been receiving calls from people almost daily placing orders because we are able to fill those orders in a timely manner associated with their time frame.
So, if you are planning a trip, I can assure you we will be able to deliver.
A testimonial I received this morning
Top of the line sleeping systems
In the middle 90’s I was tasked as the supply sergeant of a Spec Ops to research and find a better sleeping bag than what was issued. I came across Wiggy's and ordered several bags to test out. The selected troops were ecstatic with them. I ordered the FTRSS system. I soon left the unit after receiving them and have no clue whether the next supply guy ordered them or not. I highly recommend Wiggys. In my mind they were the forerunner to the MCSS the army is using now.

The army chose to create their own product back then that never worked, and it is long forgotten. The Wiggy’s SUPER LIGHT FTRSS [system] has been in use since its inception in 1993 till this very day. We do get orders from Spec Ops groups. We also have numerous civilian customers for it.
