Columbia Sportswear And Intuitive Machines Expand Scientific Partnership With Upcoming Lunar Mission

PORTLAND, Ore. — February 19, 2025 — Columbia Sportswear continues to test the limits of its innovative technologies by expanding its partnership with space exploration company Intuitive Machines ahead of its historic second lunar launch later this month. Columbia’s Omni-Heat™ Infinity and Omni-Shade™ Sun Deflector technologies will help protect the lander from the extreme cold and hot temperatures in space and on the Moon. The goal of the mission to the Moon’s south pole is to drill into the surface to search for lunar ice, a feat that has never been attempted in this inhospitable environment.

Columbia Sportswear omni materials do not work on earth so how can they possibly work on the moon? They can’t!!!

Large companies have a penchant for lying and Columbia proves that. They have made light weight jackets for use in fall temperatures using these fabrics but not cold weather garments that can be used in Alaska winters.     

This company’s intuitive machines from my research is quite large but does not have anyone on board who can or will do the research to find out where they can get proven insulation. I do not think they even cared to do the research but just said let’s go with Columbia.

The comment I started with had the following statement that I find unbelievable “supporting new industries on the Moon while driving technological advancements that reshape markets on Earth.” This comment by steve Altemus is because they are financed by government contracts and tell the government employees what they are going to accomplish.

There never will be industry on the moon because space travel is so far in the future you can not see it.
