Description

The Wiggy's Fishnet Long Underwear Top is a nylon mesh base layer for cold weather. It keeps moisture moving away from your skin so you stay warmer and drier under your other layers.

  • Moves moisture off your skin. The open 3/8 in mesh, 1/16 in thick, lets body vapor escape instead of sitting on your skin and pulling heat away.
  • Traps a layer of warm air. The mesh touches very little skin, so less heat is lost by contact.
  • Works active or resting. Close your outer layers to stay warm. Open them to vent heat and moisture when you work hard.
  • Simple nylon knit. Made from nylon yarn, unlike cotton, wool, or silk, which soak up moisture.

Sizing note: the fishnet fabric does not stretch like most long johns. Consider one size up, especially for tops. If you usually wear a Large, an XL may feel better.

Pair it with our fishnet bottoms, or call 970-241-5921 for sizing help.

Questions

Fishnet Long Underwear Top FAQ

Why fishnet instead of regular long underwear?

Fishnet mesh lets moisture leave your skin freely and traps a layer of warm air. Cotton, wool, and silk absorb moisture, and tight synthetic knits hold it on the skin.

Does the fishnet stretch?

No. The fabric is not stretchy, so many people order one size larger than their usual long johns.

How should I layer over fishnets?

Wear loose fitting layers over them. Close openings to stay warm and open them to vent when you get warm.

Can I wear them in mild weather?

Yes. In mild or warm weather, wear them under a loose shirt or alone so your body can ventilate.

What size top should I order?

Because the fabric does not stretch, go one size up for the top. If you normally wear a Large, try an XL.

What every Wiggy's has in common

One insulation. Everything we make.

Most bags stitch right through their insulation. Every seam is a cold spot. Wiggy's Lamilite is one continuous layer with nothing stitched through it. It breathes, keeps working when it gets damp, and dries fast.

  • For families: no cold spots, so everyone sleeps warm.
  • In the field: keeps insulating when it's wet.
  • For programs: in service for decades, not seasons.
  • At the edge of the map: rated to -60°F.
Why Lamilite works
Most bags: stitched throughEvery seam pinches the insulation flat. That's where the cold gets in.
Wiggy's Lamilite: one continuous layerNo stitching through the insulation. No cold spots.
