Product Safety, Warnings & Limited Warranty
Effective Date: 09/25/2026· Last Updated: 09/25/2026· Applies to all products sold by Wiggy’s Outdoors LLC
1. About This Notice
This notice contains important safety information, disclaimers, and warranty terms for sleeping bags and related outdoor products sold by Wiggy's Outdoors LLC, a Colorado limited liability company ("Wiggy's Outdoors," "we," "us," or "our"). It supplements — and is incorporated into — our Legal Notice and Terms of Service. By purchasing from Wiggy’s Outdoors, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to read this notice before completing your order.
2. Outdoor Activities Carry Inherent Risks — Assumption of Risk
Camping, backpacking, mountaineering, hunting, and other outdoor activities are inherently dangerous. Weather can change rapidly and without warning, and conditions in the field can exceed any product's capabilities. You voluntarily assume all known and inherent risks associated with outdoor activities and with the use of our products in the outdoors, including but not limited to hypothermia, frostbite, heat illness, dehydration, injury, and death resulting from extreme weather, environmental conditions, or the use or misuse of outdoor gear. You are responsible for your own preparation: checking forecasts, carrying appropriate equipment, informing others of your plans, and turning back when conditions exceed your gear and your abilities. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wiggy's Outdoors is not liable for injuries, hypothermia, frostbite, or death resulting from extreme weather, environmental conditions, or gear misuse.
3. Temperature Ratings Are Estimates — Not Guarantees
Temperature ratings shown on this Site or on product packaging — including ratings expressed as ISO 23537 (EN 13537) comfort/limit values or as manufacturer estimates — are laboratory-derived estimates and general guidelines only. They are certified under ISO 23537 (EN 13537) by an accredited laboratory/ Manufacturer-tested estimates and are Not independently certified. Real-world warmth varies dramatically from person to person and from night to night. Factors that materially affect warmth include, without limitation:
- humidity, wind, and precipitation;
- the insulating value (R-value) of your sleeping pad;
- clothing worn, hydration, fatigue, and recent food intake;
- individual metabolism, body composition, health, and cold acclimatization;
- altitude, shelter type, and ground conditions; and
- moisture in the bag from body vapor or the environment.
Never rely on a temperature rating alone. We recommend choosing a bag rated colder than the lowest temperature you realistically expect, testing new gear in safe conditions close to home before depending on it, and always carrying emergency equipment. A temperature rating is not a promise of comfort, safety, or survival, and does not create any warranty beyond the Limited Warranty in Section 8.
4. Fire and Burn Hazard Warning
WARNING — FIRE HAZARD
- Keep this product away from open flames, campfires, fireplaces, wood stoves, heaters, stoves, candles, embers, and sparks at all times.
- Most sleeping bag shells and fills — including synthetic (polyester) and down products — can ignite, melt, or sustain smoldering combustion when exposed to heat or flame.
- Do not dry, store, or use this product near any heat or flame source. Sparks and glowing embers can burn through fabric without visible flame.
- This product is not flame resistant. It will burn if exposed to flame or high heat.
5. Suffocation Warning and Children's Products
WARNING — SUFFOCATION HAZARD
- Keep sleeping bags, and especially children's sleeping bags, away from infants. Sleeping bags are not for use by infants or children under [1] and can pose a suffocation hazard. Never leave a young child unattended in a sleeping bag. Ensure the zipper and closure can always be opened from the inside, and follow the age and weight guidance on the product label.
- Keep all plastic packaging bags and wrapping away from babies, children, and pets to avoid suffocation. Remove and dispose of packaging properly.
- Children's products sold on this Site are intended to comply with applicable U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) requirements, including tracking labels and limits on lead and phthalates.
6. Proper Use and Care
Improper care destroys insulation performance. Follow the instructions sewn into the product tag and on the packaging: wash only as directed dry completely before storage, and never store a damp bag. Damage caused by failure to follow the care instructions is excluded from the Limited Lifetime Warranty.
7. Product Information Is Not Advice
Product descriptions, specifications, photography, and suggestions on this Site are provided for general information only. They are not professional guidance on safety, survival, medicine, or trip planning, and are not a substitute for your own judgment, training, and preparation. Colors may vary by screen; minor variations in materials, dimensions, and weight are normal in manufacturing.
8. Limited Lifetime Warranty
Coverage — what "limited lifetime" means. Wiggy's Outdoors warrants that this product is free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal, non-commercial use for as long as the original purchaser owns the product — that is, for the product's reasonable usable service life under normal use and care. If a manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship appears at any time during that period — for example, defective stitching or seams, a defective zipper, delamination, or abnormal loss of loft attributable to a manufacturing defect — we will, at our option, repair the product, replace it with the same or a comparable product, or refund the purchase price. Repair or replacement may use new or functionally equivalent reconditioned components.
What "lifetime" does not mean. "Limited lifetime" does not mean the product will last forever, and it does not cover the natural aging of materials. Outdoor gear works hard: with years of use, compression, washing, sun (UV) exposure, and ordinary wear, every sleeping bag gradually loses insulation loft, fabric strength, water repellency, and zipper smoothness. That gradual aging is expected and is not a defect. If a product fails after its reasonable usable service life has ended — or the failure is caused by aging rather than by a defect in materials or workmanship — repair, replacement, or refund is not covered, though we may still offer repair or upgrade options at our discretion.
This is a LIMITED warranty; it is not a "full" warranty. Coverage runs to the original purchaser only), is not transferable to later owners, and applies only where the product was used and cared for as directed.
What is NOT covered. The Limited Warranty does not cover, and Wiggy's Outdoors is not responsible for, any of the following:
- Normal wear and tear, including fabric abrasion, fading, minor zipper degradation, and natural loss of loft through use;
- Burns, melting, or spark/ember damage from campfires, stoves, heaters, or any heat or flame source;
- Animal damage of any kind, including rodents, pets, and wildlife;
- Misuse, abuse, or neglect, including use beyond the product's intended purpose, over-compression, improper storage of a damp product, or use in conditions beyond the product's design;
- Modifications or alterations, including third-party repairs, added hardware, or changes to closures or insulation;
- Commercial, rental, or institutional use; or
- Damage caused by failure to follow the care instructions in Section 6 or on the product tag.

Claims may be submitted at any time while you own the product — contact us as soon as a defect appears. If your claim is approved, we will arrange repair, replacement, or refund as described above. You may be responsible for shipping the product to us; we cover return shipping of repaired or replaced products to you.
Implied warranties. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY (i.e., for as long as the original purchaser owns the product, as described above). Some states and provinces do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so this limitation may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state (and province to province). Neither this notice nor any part of it excludes, limits, or modifies any mandatory statutory consumer rights, including those that cannot be waived under the laws of your state or province.
9. Limitation of Liability; Exclusive Remedy
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: (a) your exclusive remedy for any defect, failure, or other claim relating to a product is limited to repair, replacement, or refund as provided in the Limited Warranty; and (b) Wiggy's Outdoors' total liability arising from or relating to any product is limited to the purchase price you actually paid for that product. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wiggy's Outdoors shall not be liable for any consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, including without limitation the cost of replacement gear, hotel or lodging, trip costs, lost recreational time, medical expenses, or any other losses arising from a product failure, from exposure to the elements, or from the use or misuse of the product. Some states and provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or of certain other remedies, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in this notice limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Warnings Continue on the Product Itself
Important safety warnings also appear on the product's sewn-in tag and packaging. Reading this page does not replace reading the product tag. If any warning on the product tag conflicts with this notice, follow the more protective instruction and contact us.
11. Reporting a Safety Incident
If a product fails in a way that could create a safety hazard — or if you experienced an incident or injury — please tell us at wiggys@wiggys.com. You may also report product safety incidents to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission at SaferProducts.gov. Reports help us improve products.
