Description

The Wiggy's Ultra Light Freedom Shelter Center-Zip is a 20°F sleeping bag that also works as a comforter and an insulated poncho. It is built for soldiers, hunters in tree stands or duck blinds, and solo campers.

  • Three uses. Open it flat as a comforter, close the foot with the shock cord for a sleeping bag, or wear it as a poncho.
  • Wear it on stand. Stay warm while you sit still and make little body heat.
  • Warm when damp. Lamilite keeps insulating when it gets damp and dries fast.

The Freedom Shelter was created around 1984 and later developed by retired Marine Corps Colonel Dick Haislip, who asked our founder, Jerry Wigutow, to make the matching sleeping bag. The system was supplied to Marine Corps Force Recon, and Army aircraft carry the shelters for each person on board.

Size: Long/Wide. Made in Colorado, USA, in 14 colors. Interior color will vary.

What every Wiggy's has in common

One insulation. Everything we make.

Most bags stitch right through their insulation. Every seam is a cold spot. Wiggy's Lamilite is one continuous layer with nothing stitched through it. It breathes, keeps working when it gets damp, and dries fast.

  • For families: no cold spots, so everyone sleeps warm.
  • In the field: keeps insulating when it's wet.
  • For programs: in service for decades, not seasons.
  • At the edge of the map: rated to -60°F.
Why Lamilite works
Most bags: stitched throughEvery seam pinches the insulation flat. That's where the cold gets in.
