DUCKSBACK Barren Grounds Parka FAQ
Is the Barren Grounds Parka waterproof?
The DUCKSBACK fabric is very water resistant without a coating. Water runs off it like water off a duck's back.
What should I wear under it?
A loose fishnet top as your first layer, then loose, non-coated layers, so vapor can move out through the jacket.
Can I wash it?
Yes. It is completely machine washable and dryable.
What's the difference from the Antarctic Parka?
The Barren Grounds uses L-6 Lamilite for temperature regulation. The Antarctic Parka uses L-12 Lamilite and has been used as low as -80°F.

Every piece is built in our own shop.
Built once. Used for decades.
One insulation. Everything we make.
Most bags stitch right through their insulation. Every seam is a cold spot. Wiggy's Lamilite is one continuous layer with nothing stitched through it. It breathes, keeps working when it gets damp, and dries fast.
- For families: no cold spots, so everyone sleeps warm.
- In the field: keeps insulating when it's wet.
- For programs: in service for decades, not seasons.
- At the edge of the map: rated to -60°F.
